I do not feel like taking history so it's either French or Spanish. I'm leaning towards French because, Spanish is something I do not care for.

When I was making this very same decision years back, I decided to go for Spanish because I meet far more Spanish-speakers whose English is very poor or nonexistent. Most people I meet who speak French have at least decent English, unless they are speaking Haitian Creole, which isn't really French anyway. There are far more Spanish-speakers in the world and I found my knowledge of Spanish to be very useful in the world of the internet.

Although personally I feel Portuguese is a more beautiful language; of course I am biased by Sr. Jobim and company.

I live in Spain and i love the language so Spanish ftw. Vivo en espana y me encanta la idioma pues, espana para ganar!

Ok DON'T go for French. It may be a beautiful language but it's soo f*cking hard!
I got 2 lessons Spain, and that's like, cool and really easy compared to french.

Well I think their both cool but you will use spanish more in real life so that what i'm going to be taking

Do what make you happy. Personally, I would go for French.

All the Spanish radio stations blaring Mexican have been getting into my head. I can't stand it no more. Also, I can't stand the Jerry-Springer-like Spanish TV channel either.

Go german LOL. I study IT in school for 8 years now and it's great.

I voted French.
It's hard, but it'll pay off in the end.
I'm planning to improve my French, because it's rather bad. after college.

Romance languages (I heard. Others I haven't heard):
Italian > French > Portugese > Spanish

I voted French, although I take Spanish.

If you live in the US take Spanish. Putting bi-lingual on a resume is impressive but bi-lingual English/Spanish will get you farther than English/French.

Spanish > French ... except you have a big talent for roman languages in general ... but imo the general structure of spanish is easier ... you will get mad with all the accents (´`^ etc.) in french ...

although french is a good language as well ;o

(learned french, not spanish ... would have taken spanish if it had been available)

Im from South America, and i think basic spanish is very easy, in 1 year you can learn a lot, and if you like it and you keep on it, you will be from us

spanish is easier than english, at least basic is easier than basic english.

i learned english 4 years ago and now i can talk english a lot, not exelent but very good i think, and spanish is easier to learn, so in 2 years you will be talking like me in english =D

and this is false, at least spanish wins portugese... maybe french, italian is the most one yeah, but maybe spanish the second one =)

French, apparently, the latinos in my spanish class, got a C in spanish class.

Français mon ami, france est chef de la EU. Espagne est le.... hmm..... uhhh... IDK

Mandarin & English is priority since most the world speaks those two, then its French. You can't even use Spanish in large south American countries like Brazil. Only in the West Indies like anyones ever gonna live there.

Well, since i am fluent in both French and Spanish. I really would say, Spanish, hands down!

It's by far much more usefull, and common. French is really only usefull in france, and dignified french speaking places.

Spanish, you can use nearly all over the world, it will aid you much more in the future, i mean it is the 3rd most spoken language in the world.

Me croire mon ami, si vous prenez français, vous ferez juste a beaucoup de travail. Apprendre l'espagnol, et alors vous aurez une langue importante.

Créame amigo, si tu tomas francés, tu vas a tener mucho trabajo. Aprenda español, y tu tendrás un idioma importante.

Si el español es una idioma muy importante, nadié habla frances en el mundo aparte de los franceses y los belgianos. Aprender esp´ñol y puedes hablar con todo de sur america aparte de brasil y españa

spanish, i done french before and its boring, though i did learn how to say do you speak english in french and thats soo helpful
