Got a job? What do you do?

Got a job? What would that job be? Lol I mean what do you do at work? :wink:

I work at a full serve(rather than the customer getting out and taking care of themself as is the norm, I come out and take care of all of their needs) Chevron gas station for the Pebble Beach Company. Which means I get better pay, better benefits, better everything than your normal Chevron gas station attendant.

And to make it clear, I DON'T sit behind a cash-register ringing people up for gas and snacks all day. We don't even have a snack shop here; you want something that doesn't involve cars? We've got a soda machine and cigarettes heh heh.

So anyways I come out with a nice big smile all the way up to my eyes and take care of the customer's vehicle; I check all of the fluids under the hood, check the tire pressure, clean windshields, and of course pump gas.

Beyond this we have a garage with a full-size lift...which means I get to work on mah car for free whenever the hell I feel like it. :wink:

I don't do too much mechanical work yet since I'm not all that experienced, but I very occasionally do an oil change on a customer's car or something along those lines. Not that I dunno how to do anything, just that I'm not comfy working on other people's cars. Only mine.

Been working here since June 26th of 06, and I'll be quitting by this summer to move out to Las Vegas with an SRO player named Tweakt(from Olympus).

I never mentioned the tips. Last summer while I was still acting like a dumb noob I STILL managed to pull in $50+ in tips a day. And that's on top of our hourly pay, which as I said is more than you'd ecpect for a gas-station attendant. :wink:

I think that about covered it...

but yea...

i work for Washoe County Technology Services Department.

most of the day i am behind a computer with 2 monitors and a wireless headset taking phone calls from one of the 2500+ people with computers in our network...

i monitor the network, fix peoples computers with remote VNC ( i have remote control over every one of the 2500+ pcs on the network, pretty fun)

i have full admin control over a big network, including the sheriff derpartment (no i cant check records for you, thats illegal ^^)

but yea, if anyone has pc questions, i can usually answer them.

I do inventory and shipping for a greeting card company out of Mass. The warehouse I'm at does a lot of the major distribution to all points throughout the country. Busy, active days. Pay sucks but It's a job. Can't complain about the exercise either.

I bet that's fun to have access to so many different computers. So if someone has a problem with their comp or software, you can access that comp and do whatever needs to be done to fix it?

Theres a tech dept here that does that; the program we use at the station has problems, especially since it's just a modification of the same program used by well over 500 other comps. If it freezes or somethin goes wrong, I get to watch while someone h4xx0rzzzzz my computer. Hahahaha the hack thing was a joke.

Reise can't complain about having a job.

Well you can but you can't quit. I complain all the damn time about having no time, but I won't quit just to be a lazy shit mooching off of all my friends and my parents...like I used to be.

yea man, i have VNC (remote control software) access on every computer in the network, all i have to have is the barcode and the department the computer is in, and the computer is mine to control, its fun. hehe.

but one time we were having issues with the IP addesses for some computers getting confused with the names of others, so i would type in a name of a computer and i would go to a completely different one... needless to say the people were confused as to "why their mouse is moving around the screen without them touching it."

Lol a very useful power indeed. It'd be fun to mess around with people...but not worth losing a job.

Yeah houses are way the hell cheaper in NV than in Cali, so me and homie are movin out there soon. I'll let you know when we do.

im at partime server at some restaurant u prolly never heard of....being a server is HARD, u carry all those plates and u have to worry bout not slipping or offending costumers or neting

Pimp thats the minimum wage in your state? California has like almost $7. I make alot more than min wage thank Yevon heh heh.

lol me too. some ppl are so picky....like in their drinks 'OMG THERES SOMETHING FLOATING IN IT!' im just like...-.- its a piece of fruit. and 'SERVER THERES SOMETHING ON MY FORK! GO GET ME A NEW ONE!' and they dont even ask nicely sometimes.

I'm still going to school (Read: I'm supposed to go to school) so I can't have a fulltime job.

I used to work at the harbor because the guy who was working was in the hospital. They didn't really wanted to give me the job, but they didn't had much of a choice, he he he. I did that for about 3 months, it payed shit and was ass heavy, but as a bonus I could eat as many icecream as I wanted. Too bad it was winter already and all I wanted was hot chocolate milk. <<

At the moment I'm admin of the forum of a video game. If I got one cent for each spambot I wiped I'd be filthy rich and didn't needed to work anymore. I'm also a papergirl and I work in the local Chinese restaurant. What I do? I'm a waitress; I take orders, I bring people their food cuz they're too lazy to get it themselves, I clean up the mess if they throw their food off the table, I bring them their bill, I smile sweet and I get the tip.

Accounts admin for Toyota in the UK.

It's my job to make sure all the parts and materials suppliers get paid so that we can keep supplying the UK with nice, shiny, reliable, boring cars.

I also have a lot of systems development and project work as part of my day-to-day role (currently Polish VAT >_<), and in October I chaired a training seminar for over 150 suppliers. Fun.

Oh, and just for the record, I drive a Honda

I got a homie with a 2200 pound Honda Civic pushin over 300 HP to the wheels. That car is Farking nuts and a half.

Im a buyer for a few fertilizer plants owned by Agrium US Inc. Basically I have to make sure they are supplied with many different chemicals that they use to manaufacture the fertilizer, like sulfuric acid, phos acid, etc. Wow I make it sound all corporate and boring! Oh wait .. IT IS

i was deliverying pizzas and telemarketing but recently got a pretty nice paying job at an insurance company as a customer care rep and i can get bonuses every month from 300-500$ its dam nice and good pay compared to cost of living here
