Reasons why SRO will never be as good as Runescape

I compare SRO to Runescape for a few reasons.

1.) They both are MMORPG's

2.) They are both up and coming

3.) Runescape is the biggest free mmorpg out there, thus SRO competition.

4.) Everyone who doesn't or used to play Runescape hates it.

The last reason may seem kind of confusing as to why I am comparing the 2 games. I use it to show how pathetic this game is compared to Runescape (RS for now on)

Let's face it RS is a much Easier game to play. You don't have to download a client, you have plenty of servers and you don't have gay KS'ers running through the game, and RS doesn't allow bots.

Clients: MMORPG's are nice games when they free and have decent Graphics. SRO has this, but the 500 mb download with only 20 or so monsters to fight is lame.

Servers: OMFG, do I have to go in detail? Not only is there not nearly enough servers to support the people who play this game, but when you get disconnected, it closes the whole damn game. This gets incredibly annoying when your trying to just log into a world, having to start the game up 15 times until you can just connect to it. The lax server coverage for everyone playing this game is just plain laziness.

KS'ers: I don't get why Joymax made every monster in the game able to be attacked by however many people at the same time. This makes it difficult for lower levels to get kills on some quest when high levels come in and just insta-rape every monster your trying to fight.

Bots: I guess Joymax apparently allows bots to be used in this game. This is uber gay BS. Skill on MMORPGs is based on who is on it the longest, and bots totally ruin this. I mean, they don't even delete topics talking about Bots on there Homepage forums. Bots totally undermine a MMORPG and there doing a good job with it in this game

That all my rants, but I mainly say them out of frustration. These issues make this game annoying to play and need to be fixed somehow.

Lets face it, the graphics blow, there are no pots, you have to stand around to heal, or eat a very limited supply of food. The graphics are mind boggilingly bad, the anamations for spells are pathitic. The d/l for sro client is well worth it

SRO has way more than 20 monsters, saying this proves you havent gotten far into the game. Check the map

RS can win in servers, but they don't have as much traffic/features. No party system, no guild system. No job system, only the wildreness, which is a big joke in itself. You cant murder or job.

RS has multicombat zones. KSing once you are 30+ isnt a problem for nukers, other people just deal with it. Cry me a river.

Bots are bad, RS has autominer, and other marcos to powerlvl skills.

Lets face it, better graphics, more killing, less skills to lvl. SRO is a better game to play.

True I haven't played this game long and was basing the fact of 20 monsters of the mainpage for SRO.

And using bots gets you banned in RS, here it seems to be praised.....

Well how many people play RS again? 100,000 last I heard and how many people play SRO? Lets see RS banned bots, do they ban all of them? Silkroad banned bots, do they ban all of them. Almost every game has a glitch or people who use programs w/e to cheat. Deal with it...

SRO=uncompleted game.

RS=fully done(with the exeption of a few updates here and there :roll:

I mean, we dont even have takla yet. and its still pretty big so when we get takla....the Roc island.Then Euro.Then full euro areas.Then Islam.Then full Islam areas.(all these including new monsters/skills/weapons/amour/features)

and then there is the RS map.

rs has no combat skills; only a mage shows a variety which is only based on color..... :shock:

compare a nonpaying rs player's map to a nonpaying sro player's map.....speaks for itself

Runescape was the worst game I have EVER played in my entire life. It was only good till you hit lvl 40 and I played till 95. HORRIBLE just horrible.

er.. i saw a friend play on runescape.. he was pvp'ing i guess

here's the gist of it: click on a guy and see this red splat appear, saying 1. Then when he hits you, another splat appears. The damage was always 1 -.- So my friend went to the bathroom and got a coke, and by the time he got back, he had half his health left lol

i dunno if he was uber noob or watever, but a game like that is 0/10 >.>

The only fun part about runescape is members world. If your not a member jagex ( Runescape makers ) basicly screws you over. They dont add ANYTHING for f2p everything is for p2p. Half the game are scammers, hackers, and botters, but atleast they ban botters.

Also the pvp system is horrible, if die in 'wild' you drop all your armor, wepons, and everything in your inventory. How gay is that?

I use to play RS back in the day... it was fun.. mods talked to u, weekly updates that were exciting such as new quests and territory, friendly community, and there was NO botting, joymax did a great job at getting rid of botters

however, no clans, bad graphics, etc...

i had a good time on RS, but like this game more

dude when i played rs i made bots for that game lol wow u make me sick saying that rs doesnt allow bots rs is a Java based game which makes it hella fun to make bots for and when i played rs i use to bo so get your shit straight please.

My point wasn't that it was bot-free. It was the fact that they banned people advertising there bots.

I know SRO is better than RS, but I was just pretty pissed when I wrote this. It was more of a way to vent anger out at this game.

Oh, you get detected eventually in the new rs2 build, but its still incredibally easy to get a bot to work in it at least before you get screwed. if you are intelligable, you'll be fine with it. I thoroughly encourage botting in runescape, it's such a stupid game :banghead:

played till lvl 56, and then realized that i had wasted my life. completely. for a year. playing it. blah.

pff, i actually enjoy this game. runescape was agonizing. sitting there trying to figure out the formulae for raising hp or str w/o knowing exactly what you were going to do when you raised it... bah crap.

idk i just liked their PVP..they had a whole half of map dedicated to it lol... yes runescape hits numbers but it was still exciting to some people =-P..i LOVE SRO...dont get me wrong

Wild was stupid.

Organizing a clan was a mammoth task in itself, since no-one had heard of the GOD DAMN PARTY SYSTEM over there.

Grinding is even more boring than SRO seeing as in SRO you only have to grind for your Actual XP, in RS you have to -: "Right Click, Left Click", "Wait 5 Seconds", "You caught one lobster". Repeat 27 times. Walk to bank. Go back. Repeat for days.

Whenever somebody rags on RS for its graphics, I tend to think of them as morons who think a game is nothing but looking at pretty pictures. Go to a museum if you want to look at pictures. Play Runescape if you want a good game. For java, its graphics are marvelous.

I'm not saying that SRO isn't a good game. I think it is great, but it has three skills; hunter, thief, and merchant. Runescape has a million. Runecape is anything but "up and coming", having been around for about 6 years. I've played it for almost 5, and I have no plans of hanging it up any time soon.

Silkroad is fairly new, so I am going to stick with it to see how it develops. Runescape was pretty simple when it first came out, and it grew into something awesome. I think SRO can do the same. You get the same game without paying monthly, which is a lot more than can be said for RS.
