So... as their little April Fools experiment this year, reddit created r/place.
The premise is simple. Every user is allowed to place 1 PIXEL on the board, every 5 minutes.

Now... somehow every major community out there on reddit managed to get themselves seriously organized and slowly but surely managed to build up a ton of legitimately good-looking pixel artworks. You can press on every pixel on the board and see who placed it.
There's all sorts of politics going on, turf wars, German Blitzkriegs, etc. Honestly I'm just bloody amazed. This was a blank canvas 2 days ago, and now it's goddamn work of art.
