Going to keep it short and sweet.

My housemates and myself are starting a gaming youtube channel, ofc i know it wont get big with the millions out there but we do want to try something different. So when you guys watch youtubers what keeps you watching, what things do you like that they do etc.

Again, i am not in it to get big thats rarely going to happen but its for fun so keep it ontopic.

I really dislike when YT'ers talk through Cinematics and important dialog. I instantly stop and look for somebody else when I see that happening. If I'm going to watch you play a game, at least show me what it's about.

Roleplay of some sort is a plus (not necessarily serious RP) and it's important to watch you have fun.

Also please don't scream like a retard D:

I have yet (and doubtful that I will ever) come across a youtube channel that compels me to subscribe. I must say though that I do hate lengthy intros. I just want the info I need asap and be out....

What kind of videos are you planning on making? Lets plays? Tips and tricks? Montages? Different kind of videos ask for different aspects to keep me watching.

I completely agree with XMoshe. Would love some more information.

If you are going to do "Let's play" videos, which are often like a mix of vlogs and gameplay videos, I don't really mind what you play at all. In fact, most of the time I'll not even watch the gameplay. I just want to be entertained by you rambling on about something.

That, of course, puts a lot of pressure on you as an entertainer, and it'll most likely take you many videos to get used to just talking to the camera.

That's just my personal opinion, though. I'm sure many people - like poehalcho - want to watch more traditional gameplay videos too. Where you don't talk all too much, but just generally inform the viewer about what is going on and other random facts about the game / genre / whatever.

But yeah, please get back to us with what sort of videos you plan on making. Oh, and remember to post a link to the channel once it's live! :sohappy:

I'm likely going for a mix of lets plays & v'logs but will also do segments on custom maps in games. One genre of game ill do a few videos on is board/card games that have been digitalized.

Well, I also agree that, you shouldn't scream/talk too much xD
But I rarely watch youtube clips of games... unless it's a review of something.

Just make one and we'll see.

Can't say there's any YouTubers that are interesting enough to watch. Something about a recorded video of someone talking just doesn't do it.

Twitch streams though. They're live and the streamer can react real time to what the viewers want.

Fixed that for ya.

Indeed don't be another pewdiepie, first videos will be awkward regardless unless you have experience elsewhere.

tbh the first video has got me stumped not sure if to dive into a game or just do a intro video who i am, what games im likely going to play etc as a short intro thing so im not just some random guy making videos

Could you upload them to Youtube as hidden videos (unlisted videos) and then send a link to me in a private message? Could give you some feedback :)
That way, you can always just keep them hidden if you don't want them published, but you can still get feedback.

next time i deleted the footage as i decided due to the size of the files i needed to sort out my pc so i have room to do it more often, freed up nearly 3tb of space

Send me the link as well if you do upload them as unlisted. And you would be surprised what people watch. I have a youtuber who frequently uploads chess videos (blitz chess or something, it's a..well chess game on pc)
