I just came across this video a couple of hours ago. It's pretty amazing. The video itself is really well made too. Just a pleasure to watch!
If you're in a hurry, watch the first couple of minutes and then skip to 6:25 where the action starts again!

well... Since we haven't really seen jetpacking infrantry fly around... And if it was in development, these guys probably wouldn't be allowed to make the vid :/

They land via a parachute. You can see it attached to their backs, actually.
In regards to the military: A) They probably can't fly for more than 15-20 minutes at a time. Just a guess. But based on their small fuel bottles, I don't think they'll be able to stay up there for all too long.
B) There isn't much space for missiles and guns :p

I flew in my dreams tons of times...half the time with ease and the other half with difficulties...I've read/heard that your'e legs being crossed while you sleep accounts for the difficulties...
This was a nice video... I believe the fuel is stored inside the wings supporting the 4 engines underneath (unsure though, just speculation)....Judging by the wing size they are probably able to keep flying for a while....
I'm not sure how the military would use this... I thought maybe covert missions but those jets are too loud...This flying apparatus would make for an enticing target to an enemy sniper as well or heat seeking missile which is hell of a lot faster...Though this thing would be hard to spot on radar on account of it being so small...
