Thailand's army declared martial law before dawn Tuesday in a surprise announcement it said was aimed at keeping the country stable after six months of sometimes violent political unrest.

Just now hearing about this. I was unaware of the political unrest in Thailand. Been too busy focusing on Ukraine/Venezuela.

Kind of interesting that they'd go as far as to declare martial law, even though "The military..denied a coup d'etat was underway.".

Quite a few developing countries experience civil unrest especially around their election period...so this shouldn't really be a surprise....

Apparently it is quite common there and they have had these protests for like 10 years between two factions, so its "not a big deal"
