Looking for MMORPG-players for Master Dissertation

Hey, everyone!
I’m writing my Master dissertation on MMORPG’s and I was wondering if you MMORPG-players could help me out? Could you please fill in this survey about MMORPG’s? It will only take 10 minutes of your time.
Everything you fill in will be processed anonymously and will not be used for commercial purposes.
Here is the link: This survey was closed on the 30th of March at 4PM (GMT+1)
More than 1150 people participated in this survey. So thank you to all who participated!
You can expect the results between the 25-30th of June (because by then I will have finished my oral defense of my master dissertation and my exams)

There was no room for comments in your survey but the only thing I want to add is that I don't mind advertisement if it fits in the world like in your example. If it's obnoxious like ads on mobile games or something then I hate everything about it.

My name is Shana Verberckmoes and I'm a student at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and I'm doing research on MMORPG's.
Thank you for your comment on the survey. If the rest also want to comment on the survey please do
I'm very interested on your opinions.
If you want me to post the results, I will. It will take some time though to analyze everything. I'll write a quick summery in English about the results (cause the dissertation is in Dutch). But it will be soonest the end of May or June (depends when my exams are exactly).

Also, I just want to add that what I think of in-game advertisements can be said very shortly and in once sentence:
Keep the ads out of MMORPG's - they don't belong in a fantasy world!
They do fit well in other sorts of games (as answered in the survey). Very nice survey by the way - and good luck with your Master!

I don't have any problems with it if it's as subtle as the example. When it blends in as well as that. Not that I'd be persuaded to buy it but eh..
Also let this guy do his job (or girl do her job..) and cut out the jokes

answers of some of the questions were pretty overwhelming and kinda pointless, like the:
The advertisement matches with the game
The advertisement does not fit together with the game
i will answer one positively and the other negatively, if i answer them any other way, my survey is automatically not credible, right? so why answer twice; if I, for example, say that it does match with the game, doesn't it automatically mean that I think that it does not fit together with the game? or was the point something else?
to make matters worse:
The advertisement is appropriate within the game
The image of the advertisement is in accordance with the game
am i just obtuse and unable to differentiate these two, or don't they mean practically the same?
otherwise, it's pretty cool, and would like to see the results

I used to play Silkroad (and yes, I enjoyed it very much! Very aesthetically pleasing MMORPG in my opinion) and I googled if there were any forums about it. And so I came about this forum.

I understand your frustration with the questions that are very similar. There are a couple of reasons why they are made that way:
First, I need to be sure people answer in a consistent way. Second, some of the questions are part of already tested and scientific scales. This means I have to use all the questions in the scale even though these are very similar.
So, I have to abide by certain rules of making a survey designed by universities. If I didn’t, I would probably fail my dissertation.
I will keep you informed about the results.

Great explanation actually. I had the same issues that Melez stated and you pretty much summed it all up perfectly.

I had some trouble with interacting with others. If someone is ksing me or bothering me, I'll be aggressive towards them and bother them but if someone is genuinely in need of help I'll go all out to help them, even if I don't care much for interacting with others.

I feel you dawg. No game worth going hardcore for, and no time to go hardcore. I did the real hardcore MMO when I played WoW so I got my fill in.

Same here... I haven't been able to go hardcore since SRO...Its a combination of not finding anything that really holds my interests as well as being engaged in real life matters...

A really big thanks to all those who filled out the survey. I'm closing this survey tomorrow (30/03) around 4PM (GMT+1 time). So anyone who wants to fill in the survey can still do this today and your participation will of course be appreciated. I'll also let you know tomorrow when in June you can expect the results.
