Doctors weigh in on British woman who supposedly overdosed on cannabis
News that Gemma Moss, of Bournemouth, England, died after smoking a joint and the local coroner reportedly declared the cause of death 'cannabis toxicity' taveled quickly in British tabloids. But doctors and marijuana-experts say that the thought of someone overdosing on pot is ridiculous and virtually impossible.

The coroner who said "cannabis poisoning" killed a British mother of three is likely blowing smoke. Gemma Moss, 31, a devout Christian, reportedly collapsed and died after smoking half a joint at her home in Bournemouth, England.

Coroner Sheriff Payne found that she had moderate to high levels of pot in her system and attributed her death to cannabis toxicity, according to British news sites

It just seems slightly suspicious. I get it can cause a rise in your heart rate but to raise it enough for you to have a heart attack doesnt seem all that possible unless you had a heart condition.

People have been smoking that shit for years and by the bushels daily without any acute life threatening effects...She might have had some weird intolerance for it or an existing medical condition to have died from only half a joint...or more likely she had a bad batch that was chemically mis-treated in the growing process....

It has to be allergic, I'm around a grow op pretty regularly and most of the chemicals used arent that dangerous just a whole lot of ph balancers and such. IMO this is a coincidence, she had a heart attack and had thc in her system. If I died today they could say that I died from weed if we are judging it by thc being present in your blood.

Yeah this is all bullshit unless it was allergies or there was some pre-existing condition. I remember reading it takes like 900 joints to actually overdose, and that's more just dying to the carbon monoxide intake.

There's also studies out about cannabis oil shrinking cancer cells which obviously refutes this article.

lololol...not laughing at you but your comment...it just triggered my funny bone for some reason....Anyways it could be her joint was laced with something else as well...something not easily traceable in the aftermath...

If it's enough of something to cause a reaction like that, it would be traceable I'd assume. I'm not chemist or anything but that would make sense.

If this was true how come I haven't read about it, or it hasn't been on the news. Is it something recent?

I believe there are some chemicals that don't leave trace in body after death.

Half a joint doesn't kill anyone unless they have some weird condition. Or the cause of death was compltely unrelated and she just so happened to have THC in her system.
