Happy Chinese New Year my fellow Chinese persons. This year should be good, lots of relatives in New Zealand so that means more hong bao for me
I know there's only a handful of us Chinese on these forums, but have a good one nonetheless. Brb, gonna go eat and get rich.

The year is 2014 but what is the real year? I mean the earth has been around well over 2,014 years... Just a random thought...

Yes I went and checked Google too since I was curious... 4.54 billion is what it says...It's interesting how we don't refer to the real year... Or is it that any time before the appearance of humans doesn't matter...Or rather anytime before we care to started counting doesn't matter....

It's because christianity... But it's just convenient not having to write and say that long number which isn't accurate enough in the first place.

Calm your vagina, it's a very obvious and immature racial pun that by it's nature shouldn't be taken seriously,

That would've been your explanation after saying it in front of some Asian people?...Or would your vagina zip it's lips carefully beforehand and not create a situation where things could easily be perceived differently?.....I'm wagering on the latter....

If you think I am upset you're way off...I'm not offended or anything but using online anonymity to say shit you wouldn't normally say in public just to get a few laughs is just lame as hell...

Why would this not be something you would say in public...
It's a harmless joke :|

Considering the multiple asian friends I have and the amount of asian jokes I make, this is most certainly something I'd say in public for a few laughs.

In my perspective, if someone were to say that to me and my group of friends, we wouldn't be too offended by it, but the second they leave, we'd be like "who the fuck is that guy? dumb gwai lo lol."
It was a poor joke imo, but nothing to be offended by because of the pure stupidity of it LOL
I believe "We're laughing at you, not with you" would apply to that situation

@ The one's thinking its OK:
You guys must be trolling...or utterly naive.... Whether something is offensive or not is determined by the person/people it was directed at...Its not determined by you....It's naive/dumb to think that because you and your asian friends think its OK everyone else (asian or other) should as well....

Intention is all that matters, my friend. It's not my fault if they get offended by a joke that's obviously a joke. We can't all be politically correct care bears all the time; someone's bound to get offended by something you say or do.

Intention matters but doesn't carry as much weight as how a message is perceived...And assuming it should be perceived as how you intend it is presumptuous and shortsighted (especially with racial jokes)....No one is a mind reader and we tend to view things differently at times based on numerous factors....The humorous/sarcastic/unintentional puns might even be perceived as such and still not be appreciated....

I do like a lot of us here attack others at times but I try not to take it too far like pulling the race card for laughs...

It was a joke, you need to tone the butthurt down a notch. Someone said a stupid "racist" joke and you are acting like they smacked your mom.
