What if we stop reproducing for ten years?

Current mortality rate is %0.95 worldwide, imagine birth rate being 0% for 10 years, by that time the youngest person alive would be 10 years old, then we start reproducing again.
How would that impact the world and would it be a good or a bad thing?

Hm, interesting thinking. I'm not sure if it would be a good or a bad thing. Obviously, the total population count would decrease, but it wouldn't be disasterous for our entire species, I think.

Mortality rate as in how many people die per year? So would the worlds population decrease 10%?

Can't see that as a bad thing.

Maybe short term wouldn't be bad, but long term could have issues

Wouldn't do shit, only reasonable way to control population growth is to have 1-2 childs per couple.

We would experience a period of reduced environmental impact....would be small and probably unnoticeable amongst the overall population...

Wonder what the economic impact would be. There is going to be a huge sector being dependent on child birth. and children in general.

Can't we just make having children a privilege, like driving. You have to pass a common sense and iq test to have them or something.

To many people having kids just to get money from welfare, or on accident and can't take care of em, or simply retarded people who shouldn't have kids, or people having kids then murdering them, etc.

I even saw a one thing about parents having children and ingesting chemicals to make the baby deformed or retarded because the gubment gave more money to disabled children.

Maybe if the world stopped reproducing for 10 years those starving children commercials would stop.

After the 10 years have passed, a global baby boom would occur; so hold your Pampers stocks for 10 years and you will perhaps be rich. Fast forward 30-40 years after we're allowed to start having children again, that's when we will really see the impact.

Job market will desaturate for short-term, but in the long term, it will eventually be even more saturated than ever.

How do you propose such a thing? Implement a penis nonexploding tool whenever they ejaculate inside a vagina? I'd suggest tying tubes and what not, but then unlicensed doctors and other countries would just be like "We got you covered, just come here." Perhaps kill all unborn children if they're unfit?

You can't stop stupid

Rather then trying to physically prevent such things >.>, I was actually just thinking a simple law perhaps.

I mean you can't stop people from driving without a license either. Until they are pulled over and found to not have one. But most people have one and gotten it legally right? Sure there are plenty of em out there without it, but if it wasn't the law to know how to drive before driving, how many do you think there would be then?

And it's not like everyone's gonna deliver their own baby or give it medical care, they'll eventually need to go to a hospital or something. It's not exactly something they can hide. If they wanna have a child and are capable of going to another country to get around laws preventing those who aren't capable of taking care of one, I don't think they would qualify for not being capable then and have to worry about it. And even if they are, they leave and come back an extra person isn't there gonna be an explanation needed? Just having it somewhere else doesn't make them capable lol.

I wasn't exactly thinking kill the kid either lol, it's not the kids fault people are stupid.

Not like I wanna take away freedoms either, but iuno, I don't think irresponsible teens for example should be able to go out and get pregnant just like that, having a kid they can't take care of, or any of other ones listed above.

Solution: Mandatory chastity belts for all women.

And Ryan Gosling can be the shirtless gate keeper.

I'd just like to say that I have not reproduced in 22 years, so I feel that I've done my part.
