How does one get motivation to work out, when they already look fairly decent?

It's been a problem of mine for years. I'm 6'5 and 175 pounds. So a bit on the skinny side, but not horribly so. And I'd love to bulk up a bit and get dat ryan gosling body, but can't seem to find the motivation to do so, given my current status.

Halp?

Edit: And to give you a bit of an idea of what I'm dealing with/fap material, here the most recent FB picture of me.
Spoiler!

If you want to bulk you first need to eat, can't get big without the carbs needed.

That being said what I personally do when I am in need of "motivation" to kick ass in the gym ( aka my garage ) is watch fight videos; my aggression usually goes up quite a bit and shit gets done with quality rather than just doing it.

Yeah, I know. I was bulking pretty good for a while, went form 155 to 175 in 1 month or two.

But now I'm back to like 170, and I've slacked off on eating. Need to pick it back up.

And interesting idea. Pissed off = prime time work out. Makes sense. Cause you know, hulk smash.

Take your steps small and slow. When you rush into things you'll get burnt out and end up not doing it.
This was a big helper for me to change things around

I don't. I can't get motivated. Same problem as you, always been a little on the skinny side, and never really had the need to lose weight. Played volleyball for 8 years, so I didn't need anything else.

well I started from a 6'2 120lbs so I got some skinnyassed bones, most of my friends look wider than me just from their shoulder bone structure but when they take off their shirt I look better.

and I don't have bulky legs, wich is a major factor for weight.

I've been working out for so long that it's simply a habit. I hardly need extra motivation to work out, it feels good to work out :).

When i feel a bit weak or tired i generally just throw on some good high energy music.

On a sidenote: I'm not some huge bulky guy. I've got good abs and decent tone in general. But i'm quite lean, not big ^^

I think what you have to ask yourself is why are are doing this in the first place. Is it for emotional reasons? For aesthetic reasons? For self confidence? For general fitness? Then, once you figure out why you want to do it you have to ask yourself is fulfilling that need worth the sacrifices needed to make it happen.

I'm in a similar boat to you but on the opposite end of the scales. I'm around 5"10/11', currently at 72 kgs (158 pounds). I think I'm fat. I don't think I'm incredibly fat or anything, but I think I'm overweight. My goal weight is 65 kilos (143 pounds). I have a bit of muscle and dont look like sticks and bones, but I want to lose the excess weight around my legs, stomach and hips. I was going incredibly well, I was down to about 67 kilos and I was actually really happy with my body. But then my girlfriend at the time dumped my sorry ass,I put on another 5 kilos and slipped into a hell of a rut.

I've started to break myself out of the pit I was in and am working at it again. I run a lot, not only because I want to lose weight but because I enjoy it. I'm doing my best to avoid unhealthy foods (although I'm not perfect :p). It's taking sacrifice and effort, but I feel the sense of achievement and satisfaction will be worth it.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, you're not bad at all Twill.

I'm currently going camping, I think when I get back, in 4 days, I'ma start hitting the gym a bit.

Though, tbh, the idea of it is a bit intimidating. Not the actual working out part, just the gym. Never really been in one before. Ha.

Do forget you can only train one muscle a day or you'll confuse your protein.

unless of course you mix your protein like chest protein and arm protein then you can bench and curl on same day.
