A weak heart?
Well, nobody has the right to vandalize private property.
But he certainly didn't deserve to die.

Not like it was the police offers fault he died. He shouldn't have ran.

Weapons don't kill people, people do... unless you're a cop of course.

Eh he would have gotten (apparently) beat up then.
Just unlucky that he had a weak heart and died from a taser shot - unless of course they kept tase-ing him continually after he was already down..

A young kid is accidentally killed due to proper police procedure while running away from the cops because of his illegal hobby.
Yeah, I don't feel too bad.

Yea but that shouldn't be the case, I don't see spray painting an abandoned mcdonalds to be a capital offence. It's not like he was throwing up gang signs on it, he was probably making it look better if anything.

And the cops telling him they'd beat him up next time sounds more like a threat than a warning.

Running from the cops is a major offense. Tasing a suspect who is running away is textbook.

Whether you think it was a serious crime or not is irrelevant. Is it not against the law?
What you think might look better might look awful to others, which is obviously one reason we can't just go around painting shit on w/e we want.
And running from the cops, what do you expect to happen? If it wasn't a serious crime to begin with why turn it into one by running?

I mean he technically shouldnt have ran but judging by how well cops have dealt with graffiti artists in the past, I would have ran too.
Why would you run? Besides the threats on his health made by the police force and the past history of beatings of artists of this nature, no reason.
Lol'd when I saw this,
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/0 ... more312023Kill a street artist, and all the others will come to support him. Miami sure has an expensive clean up in their future.

This is a messed up situation indeed....I can only blame our society for allowing the retarded legislation/rule/law/or whatever you call it that makes it possible for the blanket use of tasers on anyone with little regard for the health condition they might be in.... The retarded system that we endorse is what killed this kid.....

I remember people saying a taser should have been used on that dog from a few weeks back. Now you bunch of frauds want the tasers gone. Morons, all of you.
Or maybe just most of you, I'll never say! Dun-dun-dundunnnnnnnnnnn

Yeah, but now they're gonna say, "But that was a dog and this was an unarmed kid."

Gun vs taser on aggressive dog
Taser vs nothing (tackling?) on escaping teen
I dont fault the police but nice try

I can't agree more with DJ and curve.
Is it a shame he passed away, yes but he got himself in the situation.

I also just noticed the sensationalist title. It's like you work for Fox News or something.
Oh...it's from a site called "thinkprogress" lol.

Someone say r/politics? Editorializing & sensationalizing was here way before Fox news ever joined the game. I'd think if you were gonna pick a network to attribute this to, it would have to be one where almost every anchor is some kind of activist..
What's with these threads lately. We have cops(mostly idiots) against people that are doing borderline/completely stupid shit(idiots), and we argue which one is less dumb in their actions. While we're on the subject of cops... I've got a few buddies that have become cops, and I'm cool with them, but I know some cops that try to be all buddy buddy with me in the gym cause they want to train with me, w/e...(They do that silly tae kwon do shit) and it's like they have absolutely no personality other than the douche bag persona(none of them strike me as intelligent either)... Curious if anyone else has gotten to know a police officer, and if they got the same impression. Also, a big trend around here, they all have shaved heads.

Touche.
I used to work right next door to the Security Forces squadron on the Air Force Base and we would see them in and out of our shop all the time to use the bathroom, to ask about some equipment, or even to just come by and kill time. Most of them are really cool guys, but there is the really douchey cop or two. I dunno, It's hard to make a blanket statement about them.

My sister's boyfriend works for the Police, but he isn't an officer, but a senior constable or something like that. And he is a cool guy.

When I lived in Canberra for about a year (about a year and a half ago now) one of my roommates was a cop. He was around my age at the time, 22, and he was actually a pretty cool bloke. He was a bit quiet and reserved at times, but you could sit down and have a chat with him and he was always friendly and had something interesting to add to the conversation. He also went out of his way to be quiet when coming home after work (2am sometimes) so he didn't wake anyone up which I thought was a pretty nice thing to do (one of my roommates atm slams the doors in the middle of the night, my other roommate wants to kill him haha). Perhaps there may be a tendency to such personality traits in certain areas of the forces, perhaps more so in different countries, but I don't think it's something we can put a blanket over.
He had hair, but I really don't see many bald people at all around here.

That's pretty rare to find a cop that is chill.

I think you're right. It seems the culture in America(or the area I'm from) for cops is, it's them versus the citizen. It almost seems like sometimes they have a sociopath personality, trying to be void of emotion while doing their job.(I'm sure there are quite a lot of actual sociopaths on the force, judging by a lot of reports and videos.)Some would see them as almost a cult like force. I don't know though, I may be just casting too big of a net over the situation based off a couple I've met in an isolated incident, such as the gym. I'm sure the job has some kind of mental effect on them, plus the already existent mentality that lead them to such a career.

Haven you known/met many cops? Pretty much all cops in the media are there for doin something bad, but thats just the media, doesn't mean all cops are dicks.
Haven't actually known any but i've talked to a few before, one even told me something a long time ago, about something I was doin, then sometime later he saw me again then corrected himself and apologized.
