I sincerely don't give a shit. It's just going to be another thing that turns all the people in the world into faux-activists about, and for the next two weeks it's all we'll see on Facebook and social networking sites.

No effect on me. Gays and Lesbian do exist, and they do not affect my life in any way. But we will see in the future.

Yay... This is just another issue they use for their sleight of hand politics. While we're down each others throats about something that shouldn't even be an issue, you can bet your ass something shady is going down behind the scene. It's absolutely hypocritical and ignorant to deny gays the right of marriage. It's as bad as slavery and segregation when talking about equal rights. (also... WTF, I like equal rights, but now days minorities are almost granted more rights in a sense, with special laws.. F that S...)

In other news, Section 4 (aka executive part) of Voting Rights Act struck down, because "times have changed" (geez i wonder why :palm)
Its like every progressive step forward has to be compensated with a step back.

I do know people who are now planning their wedding because of this. Doesn't really affect me, personally but good for them. Besides, any law that forbids two consenting adults from getting legally married is a bad law.

It's about time Australia pulled its finger out and allowed same sex marriage. Sure, I may be biased because my sister is a lesbian and I'd love to see her wed her girlfriend, but even if it wasn't the case I see no logical argument for not allowing them to be married. +1 for humanity.

Though I don't care, it's still an utterly stupid act.

I don't care all too much, but good for them. They should be allowed to be married just like everybody else.
What bugs me, though, is that here in Denmark, gay marriage can now happen in the danish churches, which is kinda weird, as it contradicts with the bible.

Oh, so this is actually for homo marriage? Didn't read properly so I misunderstood lol. Then it's alright, though I still don't care. :)

Cynical because it's an issue that doesn't effect me or anyone of the pseudo-activists personally, yet it's used as a way to seem up to date on the news and like you actually give a shit.

It looked like most of you "defended" themselves, like: "I don't really care, because it doesn't affect me, because, you know, I'm not gay."

That's kind of wrong to say. Well, If you support "Gay Rights"... It's doesn't mean you're gay or.. being in the closet. It's Just nonsense!
Anyway, any adult, out there wanna do it.. then fine. As long as they're happy.

It's just hard for me imagine that religious people feel justified trying to control other peoples lives when in fact it does not harm other people. At this point they just like humanity under the thumb of a hateful god.

Controlling people is their only thing they are good at man, if they can't even do that how will they put the food on the table? :soosad:
