I am wondering, is there anyone else smoking weed on a daily basis. And if so what kind of negative side effects do you experience?
I am now trying to stop smoking pot after 8 years of daily use and its hell. Its friggin 2.30 in the night here and I cant sleep. Them people who tell you that weed isnt adictive. They lie, I cant sleep. Im feeling very nervous etc.
I dno if this is really the place to talk about this because after all weed is still drugs. But I am wondering does anyone here went trough the same phase?

A friend of a friend of a friend of mine has been smoking daily for a while now (>2 years). He gets 5-7 grams and that lasts him 1.5-2.5 months. So far he's had no negative effects he can think of. When he took tolerance breaks he did sometimes have trouble sleeping, however he had those issues before he started to smoke. The best way he's found to get to bed is to simply be more active throughout the day, go to the gym, go for a run, etc.
It sounds like you've developed some sort of psychological dependence. Quitting 100% in one go will probably be extremely difficult but obviously would produce the quickest results. Most people who quit something instead lower their intake over time until their reliance on it becomes lesser and lesser. Maybe try that?

The big difference here is that I smoked 5-7 grams in 2 or 3 days. I dont know how you can even smoke on a daily basis for 2.5 months having 7 grams of weed.
Anywooo, as you said its the hardest way to quit something ur addicted to (coffee, smokes, drugs or alcohol) at once. But in my opinion its the only way to cut loose of yer bad habbits. The fact that I have trouble sleeping now is making me consious of the fact that I 'smoked away' most of my negative thoughts/emotions.
I guess life starts after smoking?

Just imagine how much money you'll save.
Or, maybe that's only motivating to me. Jews will be Jews after all.

Its not about the money. Lets just say I dont care about the money. Ive got a job that pays way above avarage right now. And I have also been a broke loser that had to go to his friends to have a meal in the past.
Its about 'links' that I have made in my brains trought the years. For example: a friend of mine invited me to come to the zoo with her. I was like: F8ck yeah im going to smoke a fatty and laught about them animals. If I go to the movies I'm like: Yeah lets smoke fatty and get really into the movie. Somehow a lot of things I do, my brain connected with smoking pot. Obviously that aint very strange since I smoked for the last 8 years. So everything I did was mostly under the influence of pot. Now I have to learn what life is like without. Its prolly gonna be like whole new world. I just hope I like it :/

Lol I didn't mean ounces. I kept my tolerance low by never binge smoking. I get high off 0.05 grams easily. Next step is a vaporizer so I can make it last even longer.

Re: Mary J
I blaze everyday and I'll honestly say that the negatives sides are very few as far as I'm concerned. Sometimes I'll procrastinate some things I have to do for a bowl or two but then again that's not directly due to the actual herb itself.
I'm surprised that you actually have withdrawal effects (then again I haven't been blazing daily for 8 years). There's been moments where I've been dry for over 2 weeks (still got my priorities straight and that means I don't always have money for recreational drugs) and I've honestly didn't feel any different. What could be happening is that you made yourself believe you can't enjoy things or be in a good mood unless you're high. It happened to my friend before and he simply took a two week break to live "sober" for lack of better words.

Re: Mary J
It blows for the first 2 weeks - a month, after that life resumes as normal and you just do everything you would do stoned, sober. When I had to quit I couldn't sleep ( I still haven't fixed that problem) and I was always on edge, after some time you regain your composure and its easy sailing.
Just find a new vice.

Re: Mary J
I agree with Azilius's assessment in that you have some sort of psychological dependency. I know over a 100 people (literally know them) that smoke weed (a former smoker myself) and I have never seen any of them talking like you are right now... Did you mix your weed with anything else? or maybe the people who passed you a joint mixed it and you didn't know?

My mistake. HE* gets high off 0.05 grams easily.
But yes, that is what it is. Keeping your tolerance low and never (very few times) overdoing it..it works.

Re: Mary J
Used to smoke bongs every day..ended up being tired a lot, procrastinated uni stuff etc...Then i quit and started smoking synthetic weed which worked out great for a while but then that became a bad habit. One day i missed my uni class cos i got fcked up the night before and i just had enough. Smashed my bong and havent looked back lol. Been about a month now since and it was the best decision ive made in a while. Point is, if you have a strong reason to not smoke, you will quit. Uni was for me, you just need to find you're reason, otherwise you will continue seeing that the world is much better high..which it is most of the time lol.

Haven't got to try it either yet. Though I do want to do so because now I actually know the people for that.

It's as Vegeta said, you have to stay active. Get a fulltimejob, start exercising alot or hang out alot with friends. Weed isn't that hard to quit. You just need to fill up your time with something else instead of smoking.

But overdoing it occasionally is the best part. Just get a vaporiser to keep consumption down. I empty a half o in three weeks instead of two and I'm vaping more frequently than I smoked because the high is more clear. 0.1 or 0.2 per session is all I use.*
I'm not even sure how you only take 0.05 off of a nug.*

Yes, I believe everyone should try it atleast 1 or 2 times so everyone can make their own opinion about it.
Also quiting has a lot to do with your family history, if your family has a problem with addiction quiting anything will be hard. Also would you consider your self a stoner, as in you do litterally every aspect of your life stoned, time with family, work, school, sleep, sex everything. Cause that could be the reasoning for the hard transition, being stoned just becomes life.
