Shit just got real. Our town is one of the lucky places in Holland that can offer glass fibre -connection. Just ordered a new package that includes 500 MB/s internet and guarantees same upload/download speeds. It only costs 88 euros a month and I get 500 mb/s internet, HD interactive television including recording etc., free calling from homephone (totally useless, who uses home phones anymore? ) and as a bonus I get spotify premium for free. Holland I love you soooo much

i used to have fibre when i was studying (fibre-to-the-dorms from tu delft) and absolutely loved it. right now have to settle with ziggo alles-in-1 plus (60mbit/s) :|

Btw, this is only my college appartment internet. I have better internet both at home and on college.

How the hell is mine faster than 80% of the US? ... I didn't realize our average internet speed was so dam low still holy crap.

Can get 30 Mb/s wireless and 50 Mb/s with wire. But all our ethernet ports are full so I use wireless on this laptop. Didn't think that would be 81% lol.

Because most ISPs here hold monopolies in the areas they service. I pay $55/month for 10/2. 103/10 would cost me $105/month and that's the fastest service available here. City of 100k people. Know why? There's only one ISP and they use cable for delivery. (DSL doesn't count) They can charge and provide whatever they want.

When will it be mine turn for fiber
