I have to disagree with your sentiments though because they don't really apply to him due to his lack of remorse. Sure, the mental suffering he has been through would be difficult to contemplate. But I feel that, given his attitude in those videos, he won't be living in misery with the memory of his terrible deeds. He wore a shirt saying killer to the victim statement and stated he would pleasure himself to the memory of the incident. Clearly there is no remorse or care in his heart.

Furthermore, the victims are dead. They had no choice in the decision and can't reverse it. At any time if it all becomes "too much" for him then he can kill himself. So he shouldn't get a life sentence because he couldn't handle it? Or if you're saying that he should have been helped to avoid this situation then yes, I agree. But If you don't ask for help, you won't get any, people can't read your mind. I don't know what happened to him before, but I don't think people refused to help him, he probably never asked for help, so that was his decision.

You have to go to sentencing whether found guilty or plead guilty. I'm pretty sure when you shoot someone in a school cafeteria, and you're that cocky bout it, you aren't going to plead innocent.
