That's actually cool! But... do we need the Pope anymore?

^Do we need religion anymore? We can sure as hell (bad pun not intended) explain a lot of things that surround us. Religion's primary task was to explain the events we couldn't, and now that we can, we should just quietly let it die.

Pretty sure human stupidity is to blame for most of the problems in the world, not religion in and of itself.

I wouldn't say religion is evil. I'd say the way humans use it to their own advantage is evil. Which again, ties back into my whole "Humans are stupid" statement.

People are greedy and evil at birth if i'd donate my kidney that would be a unselfish act u may say. But then again if I did id be all warm inside thinkin "ppl think im a hero im awesome"

There use relegion as a weapon against other beliefs lol,Alah says this, Mohammed said that and there roll with it. Take away that element and there wont be suicide bombers, terorists the world be a better place.

Humanity does not need religion to survive. But more importantly, religion shouldn't be connected with power as is the case with the catholic church, or the orthodox church as well for that matter. Also, the church is not necessary. A christian does not need the church to be religious and believe in their god. There are plenty of religions out there that don't have any organisations behind them and they do survive.

Then again, it's human stupidity that makes people take religion too seriously.

I loved the sarcasm in this one.

And, as for religion is/isn't evil, yes, main religions (I mean religions with the highest number of followers) are outdated and used for hate spreading, be it towards other religions, or towards women, or something else.

Religion isn't to blame for the troubles we have... It's human nature to do the stuff we do, it doesn't matter the tool we use to slow our progression. If it weren't religion it would be some other form of thinking. Look at Africa, they don't kill each other over religious beliefs, they do it because of human greed. We have plenty of people/groups that cause problems in the name of things that have nothing to do with religion. If not for religion there would just be more of us clamming to those other causes.

Praise be to Allah

That's what we say. Delete religion, some of the problems solved, while others appear. But still, delete religion. :D

But throughout history... religion has been the "single greatest source"
of human caused wars, suffering, misery etc...

It is our susceptibility to buy into any ideology, belief, method of thinking etc. whether it be religious, cultural or other that makes us mindless morons which poses a danger to ourselves, our fellowmen and environment.....If you kill in the name of Christianity I can't take Christianity to court and charge it for murder..

A lot of war lords may have fought under the name of a religion, but for the most part it was because of their own greed or other human faults. Like Budo sentiment, these things will/would happen with or without religion to use as a scapegoat. It happens in nature all the time, animals killing other animals because of territory or some kind of hierarchy in a pack.
