SRF dead?

Post by Mirosuke »

Hey uhm... recently I checked SGD (Silkroad General Discussion) or pretty much the other sub-forums related to it are... pretty much dead...

Last post from Exposed Botters is from Sat Mar 31, 2012 3:10 am
Characters and Skills... Fri Jan 04, 2013 5:19 pm
Guides and Tutorials... Sun Jan 13, 2013 4:03 pm
etc, Other SRO versions seems to be OK.

My point is the forums real essence is talking about the game... which doesn't serve completely. Everything is out date, some new users trying to get help but most of the time they don't get what they're looking for.
I come here almost on a daily basis (or whenever I am on my computer) just to check OTL or Other Games. That's it.

Not complaining but... just saying because I care about SRF community. Since it's forum I've been the longest. Ever. :/ Not saying I am getting bored of the regular members (ol' skool ftw) but a few new faces is sometimes good to read.
What do you guys think?

I've been here nearly 8 years, really has it been that long? I played SRO for about a month, maybe longer, can't remember it's been that long. I stay on OTL, because I've been here that long, made some good friends in the past! But SRF isn't what it use to be, and really needs reviving, even OTL needs reviving as well! But I think the only way that is going to happen, perhaps through word and mouth in game? Is there even anyone that plays SRO, that have been here a long time?

I can honestly say, looking back when I first joined, I've grown up a lot!

I think the place is pretty active considering that a large majority of the current community don't even play SRO any more. At the end of the day this is a gaming forum, yet most of us come here not for the game itself but rather for the community and interactions that we have all come to know and love over the years. We've seen great men and women come and fall under the weights of bans and inactivity. We've had amazing discussions, trolls for the ages and some interesting topic matter. And, in time, this will continue to occur.

Dead, alive; call it what you want. As long as our community stays around then I will continue to be here as well.

Oh noes, more spam and nosense coming from Skyve :(

Community is great, specially from OTL. It's like an extra feed from FB for me, except I can't like the posts :p

Well if SRO 2 does actually come out i am sure that will bring in some new blood into the forums. Also whenever Ryoko does show back up from being MIA we can add new mods that actually play or are involved in SRO so they can do something with these sections.

If the game that spawned a forum is dying a horrid (and much deserved) death then for sure the forum will be affected...Make sense to me.. SRO was what everybody had in common...can't expect an upsurge of people to just show up either....Something have to keep them here and OTL won't do it..... The only thing that might revive this forum is SRO2 were we might see the return of some old friends along with new faces...
