What do you think about all these "patent wars" going on between companies
such as Google, Apple etc.. And other crazy patents in general?

apple patenting everything isnt a stereotype. do they have a patent for "slide to unlock" when... i knew of PDA's that had a similar feature 5 years before that =S

Well, fuck. But you can patent anything these days, so I'll just patent water itself. Then people will have to ask for my permission to use it.

Can't patent food/ingredients, only the directions in which is made.
All this patent stuff is complete bullshit and does more harm than good. Smaller companies have no chance in hell to grow and innovate without some big corp like Apple, Microsoft or Samsung pointing their lawyers at everyone.

thats the point... they dont want any competition so they kill it before it starts.
the real problem is... people would rather buy apple stuff because its good rather then the situation we have had for the last 10 years which has been.... thats all weve had because apple have prevented anyone from making a better product.
make the product better rather then spending time preventing other people from trying to make a better product, theyre obviously scared.

It really should. Patenting an idea that you don't have plans to ever use? Why? Suddenly here comes some random dude that made it and gets sued out the ass while some big company comes and swoops up free money.
