Wearing this stuff is part of his job as an entertainer. Just like an engineer needs his toolbox. He has to look different to set himself apart from other performers. He probably got the award simply for being so successful at what he does, making Canada look good in the music industry. Yeah most of you guys probably don't like him for a number of reasons (although let's be honest, you guys mostly hate him because it's cool to hate him) but success is success.

Talent =/= success.
Having enough money to never work again in his life at his age and having a following of millions would generally be considered success. Most of us simply don't like the way he attained his success, but i wouldn't say he's not successful.
P.S. I think he's an aweful person and i hate pretty much all of his music. It's outrageous to show up in those clothes to receive an award. They should've told him to wear something proper or **** off.

He can sing obviously, but its not the reason he got so successful..
Same with Nicki Minaj, she can rap every well (as seen in her earlier songs) but she got successful off of being a mainstream sell out
On the other hand One Direction is just total corporate controlled fcks who cant sing, or have any sense of music..just poster boys
I think its more of a disgrace that Canada awards a national award to someone whos barely an artist (doesnt write/produce his songs, barely "singing") rather than Beiber going their in clown outfit.
