MMO7 vs RAT9

I play mainly MMOs and RTS. Rarely FPS but I do sometimes. I prefer wireless although I am wondering if I'm missing out on something since I haven't used a wired mouse for about 7 years now. The biggest appeal of the MMO7 mouse is that it is specifically geared towards MMO games with 15 programmable buttons whereas the RAT9 only has 6 and 2 regular mouse buttons (total of 7). The only reason I'm not jumping to purchase the MMO7 is because it's a wired mouse whereas the RAT9 is wireless. 6 programmable buttons isn't bad but for those of you familiar with MMORPGs (that's probably 100% of you), it might not be enough.

So........HALP!
MMO7 or RAT9, and why?

Nevermind. I might get the Ouroboros on Wednesday from BestBuy. Unless you guys have some advice about that. I kind of don't trust Razer products but holy hell, 11 programmable buttons and wireless. Also, it looks pretty cool.

No sane gamer should use wireless...

I don't know how I feel about the Ouroboros. I mean, sure, it has 11 buttons. But after you take away the left/right/middle and the 2 below middle (which in my experience those are difficult buttons to use on most mice) than you only really have 6. Not to mention 2 of them (from what I can see) are on the pinky finger. Maybe It's just me but I use my pinky to balance, I don't think I could use buttons with it.
I have a Razer Naga Epic and I like it a lot. It has a steep learning curve but I can access all 12 buttons on the thumb without too much issue (although I hardly use them truth be told, I'm not playing any MMO's atm). If your looking for extra buttons it's worth borrowing a friends to see if you like it. Don't be fooled by the "wireless", though. To use the wireless mode you have to connect your 3m USB cable that is normally connected into the mouse into the docking stand that lets you use the mouse wirelessly. But it sort of defeats the purpose of wireless because you still have a 3m cable lying on your desk. If it had a simple USB receiver without the need for the cable than the wireless function would be much more appealing.

@Twil:
Thanks. My biggest issue is really the wire being attached to the mouse itself. I have no problems with the dock being on the table just that I'm not used to having a mouse connected to the laptop. I can use my pinky fairly well although I would prefer if I did not. That definitely affects my choice. It all comes back to the MMO7/RAT9 or at least the Naga Epic. I'm still trying to decide if 6 programmable buttons on the RAT9 would be enough for MMO games. GW2 has a 9 skill palette and 1 key to switch weapons/modes. Still very confused.

Just gonna let you know, if its the wire you're worried about, the R.A.T. family has a great wire. It's not your typical rubber wire that hangs and gets stuck everywhere. It's more like a rope. I use it with my laptop for gaming and never have any trouble, feels as free as my wireless mice.

Is this a poll to see which is uglier?

This. Both would look god awful on a desk.
If you're worried about MMO keybind programming, you really don't need 12 buttons. For WoW, my mouse has two buttons on each side, so 4, plus modifier buttons(CTRL, Shift, Alt), so there's 12 macros right there.
I have a Razer Anasi keyboard though so I keybound a couple cooldowns to the macro buttons on that.
Regardless, both are ugly as sin, and I'd suggest any Razer product over either.

Also either one of those mice have a Macro setting button that switches between 3 profiles on the fly. So you could get by using less buttons like .curve suggested.

Had that on my older headphones. Sucked to repair the cord though, not easy to cut that.

In terms of their design both of them are a win for me...If I was to choose I'd choose the one most suited for mmorpgs because I know it can perform well at FPS too.. I doubt any of these mouse uderperforms at FPS...so its a win win...

How about neither? Both have garbage sensors.
As much as I hate Razer, I'd rather have the Naga than these piles of crap.

I'm a bit reluctant to buy Razer products. I used to have a Razer Barracuda that slolwly broke down completely in a matter of months starting with mic static (Razer doesn't sell replacements). Now I'm using a pair of fairly new Razer Ferox speakers and they come with that annoying static sound whenever the USB is plugged in for charging. Not sure about their mice but I'm a bit tired of their bullshit.
I'm leaning towards getting the MMO7 now. Maybe wired mice aren't that bad.

I agree with Rawr,
I always had Razer mouse with high DPI settings, the one i am useing at the moment is Naga Molten with 12 buttons,Reason for this is i have problems with my arm and it easier to keep hand in one place instead of lifting it all the time. And also use Razer Exact Mat, The mat has smouth side for FPS/MMO and other side for precision (3DMAX, Mayer).

I have an R.A.T. 7 and it's been the worst purchase i've ever made.
At times it simply wont go beyond an invisible barrier vertically or horizontally because of the dual-eye laser not working as it should, other times it twitches for no reason. i really dislike it sadly enough.
I do however really like how it feels in my hand, it's really comfortable and it slides really nicely over my mouse mat which is good in FPS'es.

I'm sorry Inky, but I never seen those mouse models in my life.
I don't buy Razer unless I have the money to burn.
I own a simple wireless mouse (Logitech) that works very well for any game I play, as casual gamer I am.

I took a hands on test of the products. I got a Naga Epic and a Nostromo Keypad instead. Thanks for the tips.
