So I had an assignment couple weeks ago for one of my classes where I missed the deadline for submission because I assumed (foolishly) that it wasn't an hand-in assignment because of the nature in which it was presented to us...(Our assignments are normally submitted via the school's intranet application)
When I explained my reason for missing the deadline I was granted an extra day to complete it...I had it almost done with about an hour left (had other school related things to do) when my document froze on the PC that I was using at my school's library...I tried my best to save it by consulting fixes on Google but nothing could help....I was in rage mode but kept it quiet..
The document was lost in limbo without a trace because of a policy that automatically removes any work being done on library PCs once rebooted...I video taped the whole mishap and tried to show it to my teacher and this time around he didn't care...he said no way...I accepted my faith with a quiet rage.....
After he marked and looked at everyone assignment he discovered that nearly everyone misinterpreted the assignment because of the inconsistencies that were in it and thus he allowed everyone a chance to re-do it....Joy came over me since I know I get a chance to redo it....or so I thought...
I redid my assignment promptly and tried to submit it via our intranet application only to find that I'm not allowed to submit mines...is this fair?....The rage ensues...I just sent my teacher an e-mail asking for a reason...he got back me to me saying he'll look into it....now I am on the borderline of rage and celebration....
F-ing Rage!!!!...
F-ing Rage!!!!...

Email him your assignment. Even if he doesn't accept it by email it is proof that it was done on time.
If he didn't want to give you credit he probably would have just told you so.

Re: F-ing Rage!!!!...
So lets have a look at this, shall we?
So you failed to hand in an assignment 2 days before hand, like everyone who ever studies should. Always have any assignment completed 2 days in advanced just encase something bad, like this, happens. Or encase your printer doesn't work on the day you try to hand it in. Or if you didn't back the file up and somehow happen to lose it. Ok, so you failed to take that into account. But worse off you didn't even read your assignment details to find out the method in which you should hand it in! So you made 2 very lazy mistakes and expect the teacher to give you another chance to do it again? The little phrase "learning from your mistakes" seems to come to mind.
Personally, I don't believe you should get another chance at it. The teacher has decided to give the applicants who did the assignment another chance because of the obscurity of it. You didn't complete the assignment, hence there's no reason to give you a reward for your mistakes. Suck it up and get more organised.

As much as I hate to admit this you're mostly right simply because I set this whole series of mishaps in motion from the start.... I'd like to say it's because I got other classes to worry about or it's because of stress....or the stupid PCs in the library and their network policies etc etc.. but at the end of the day it's "mostly" up to me....I say mostly because we can't control and prevent everything...we can only increase our chances to be favorable....Therefore 90% of my rage is directed at myself...
That being said since the initial assignment is now voided and invalid and warrants a re-do as per our teacher, then it doesn't matter if I had handed it in because I would have still get the chance to redo it anyways....Plus it's not like I refused to do any work from the beginning... I did try despite how ill-organized and lazy you think I was being.....I'm still willing to painfully accept being barred again from a re-do if that pleases your view point of me learning a lesson...
