Not like Kansas City has anything. Though I'm glad that google is trying to make internet connections faster in the US.

Anyone here has a fiber optic connection coming into their home? Its the ultimate for download and upload speed...potentially speaking anyways. Just wanna hear what's your experience from having it

Had uverse for about 3 years. My connection never had random drops like I'm having with comcast now. Then again my connection was only 12megabits. fiber > cable > dsl

Indeed.... however I'm not loving the shared medium aspect of cable internet...Shit gets really slow at peak times of the day....

I am a med student now; living with a 1mb connection.
Still visit the forums occasionally, but my gear is not the best for gaming. Spending my time on chess.com.
I am thinking OnLive, or services like it, will benefit greatly from internet connections like these.

OnLive is banking on it big time. The seamless gaming experience that they boast is a function of how good "your" connection is to their services. OnLive like to talk about how they've got big bandwidth pipes on their sever end as if that's the full story. If your connection aint that great then the major part of their business model is hooped.

I want Google Fiber so bad! I'd love to have 1Gbps net up and down! Uploading youtube videos and live streaming would be possible and I'd love to even have a "business" package with them so I could have multiple dedicated ips and run commercial servers in my home!
