I've been crying every night for the last 5 days [PC Help]

Here's the situation ;

I got a brand new laptop. Installed GW2 on it and the game would run fine until 5 minutes in where it would either crash my whole laptop or just display a black screen while the music is still playing. Several other players have had this problem and apparently it's related to our nVidia drivers.

Anyways, after reading around on how to fix my problem I stumble upon a program called Driver Sweeper (kind of like Driver Fusion) which essentially clears all traces of your GPU drivers so you can perform a fresh install. Ever since I've done this process my computer won't actually recognize my GPU even after I re-installed the drivers. I'll open my nVidia Control Panel and the following message will show. Note that my GPU is detected on the Device Manager.

Message displayed when I try to access my nVidia Control Panel
Spoiler!

Just to show that my device manager does detect my GTX 660. Notice how there seem to be a problem with the built-in Intel 4000.
Spoiler!

Things I've already tried
- System Restore
- Installing Beta Drivers
- Wiping my drivers/Re-installing drivers (Done this several times)
- Checking the BIOS for anything related to my GPU

I JUST WANT TO PLAY GW2 MNAN :(

lol even though there may be a solution, at that point I'd just say **** it and re-format

After looking at what you've tried reformatting could be a quick solution to this, saving you from a giant headache and possibly reoccurring problems.

Several other players have had this problem and apparently it's related to our nVidia drivers.

After a reformat and if you're still experiencing a problems you're going to have to wait for a patch. If not you'll have to wait until somebody figures out a way to work around it, unfortunately.

Oh yeah there's literally no W7 CD of any sort so I can't reformat. I could of swore I reformatted from a Win7 Recovery CD I burnt before.

Just burn a W7 Home Premium OEM disk (assuming you have Home Premium.)

Also try to disable your hd 4000 and then restart

Should I try disabling the 4000 before trying to reformat?

Also if I do reformat, won't it be even more likely that my laptop won't detect my GPU? And lastly, how big of an empty DvD I need for W7?

Brb orientation @ uni. I'm late..

Technically yes. The game will still crash on GW2 but that's entirely their fault (or nVidia drivers not optimized yet)
