Let's get OTL football enthusiasm going!
Three more days until the European Football Championship starts and we don't even have a thread going! (Or did I not search well enough?)
I understand that with the Netherlands going to win 100% it's not looking all that exciting this year, but we should still have a topic going here so we can all revel in the glory of the motherland!
So these are the groups:

Poland (Host I)

SCHEDULEThere is quite some controversy surrounding the tournament as Ukraine and Poland are probably the
shittiest hosts that could have been picked.Problems with widespread corruption (Ukraine is
#152 on the corruption perceptions index, enjoying a position between Tajikistan and the Central African Republic) and racism have caused European officials to boycott the tournament. England's ex-defender Sol Campbell has told fans to
stay home.
There is also a short documentary on this from the BBC called 'Euro 2012: Stadiums of Hate' but I can't find a link that hasn't been taken down (
public broadcasting yo!)
There were similar issues with the World Cup in South Africa and that turned out alright, so let's see what happens here!
What matches are you guys looking forward to seeing? What teams are you supporting next to the Netherlands? I personally can't wait for Netherlands - Germany and Netherlands - Portugal (last time we met at an official tournament it
didn't end so well...).

Ireland should not be there, Estonia should be.

I have no idea about group 1 so yea.
I think that Sweden might have chance over France and croatia/ireland might have chance over Italy..

If Spain plays a FC Barcelona style of football then they're a front runner for the Cup. It's likely they will so my money is on them

im english and think england will get ko in group stages... we have 7 liverpool players... even though there is only 4 teams, with the liverpool players they have every chance to come 8th
spain to win it all with germany second i think... however with some top spanish guys out this year i think germany are probably favorites.
portugal also must be a favorite because this is a league in which drogba doesnt play so ronaldo is now the biggest QQing time waster giving portugal a 20 minute advantage over most other teams.

Portugal lost against Turkey in a friendly match...
But we'll see. Hope this year doesn't have as much coach drama. We have a really strong team phisically but weak mentally.

why do people think england will do well... we won against belgium 1-0 and struggled for most the game... they didnt even make the euro!
oh and... about barcelona being boring? its better then watching the premier league players run up and down only to pass long balls to the keeper for 90 minutes.

Passes that builds up into scoring chances is what makes the game great. You cant hate on the fundamentals of the game...Its why football is called the beautiful game. Not many team play the game that way... Finding spaces where it wasn't expected and keeping the opponents guessing all with clever passing and field vision... is just beautiful...Barcelona brings the beauty back into the game..

Watching Gunners play is far more interesting than watching Barca play. Throphies or cups show nothing about the teams playstyle.

The 4-1 goal was pretty damn sweet

Yup the Czech did play horribly...I can't see them advancing by playing the way they did in their opening match.

Yeah... that was horrible.
It's such a shame that our coach never subs Van Persie or Van Bommel... they were both absolute crap today, Van Persie usually is though.
I must say i can't understand how the ref didn't see any of the 4 times they made hands either... especially :
In the end, that's what happens if you don't finish your chances.

That was so awful. Idk what we are doing with Van Persie. Either leave him with Arsenal forever so we can forget about him, or drag him with us so he can be a pretty face on the bench.
Should have let Huntelaar play from the beginning. And they need to stop playing for their own glory.
Referee was blind as **** as well. Those hands would have been considered hands even in volleyball wtf.
Germany - Portugal is up next. For the sake of the Netherlands, I hope it'll be a draw.
If not, I don't really care who wins. I'll check the UEFA website to see which team has the most handsome men and cheer for them.

We can win from Portugal > 3
Tie against Germany > 1
Gives us 4 points.
If Portugal wins from Denmark they'll have 3.
Denmark will probably lose from Germany and have 3 points.
This makes Germany 1st in our Group (7p) and we'll be second in our group (4p). Denmark and Portugal will both have 3p.

Any thoughts on the Italy Spain match? I love the way my team is playing...love the ball movement..The one touch passes in and around the 18 yard area (That shit kills any defence anytime)....They are playing a Barcelona style of football as I was expecting. Italy played well also...Game ended in 1:1 draw.
