After 7 years, I'm going to Iraq once again. Last time I was there I was only 14 (2005), now I'm 21. This is my 3rd time. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm a bit nervous too. It feels like I'm going for the first time again.

I went one year after invasion(2004) and at that time it wasn't really safe though I didn't really realize due my age and my parents being with me. This time I'm going alone and hope it'll be a bit safer.

My parents warned me not to get kidnapped (WTF?) and to be very carefull when visiting any cities. The situation in Iraq has improved but it is far from stable. Despite all the risks I still want to see my country and see how it is now. I want to see my family too, it's been too long since I last saw them.

I'm leaving tomorrow and will stay for 3 weeks. I won't be much on the Internetz over there, so I'll see you guys in 3 weeks (hopefully)!

I remember when I visited my family in Morocco, my face when I found a cyber cafe.

Always keep your eyes on your luggage. While back I heard some guy that just came home after being in prison for 7 years in thailand or something. Some guy stuck a bag of coke in his suitcase while he wasn't paying attention.

Besides that have fun! I guess...

I'm going to Afghanistan in a few months. For a deployment of course. Be safe in Iraq, the situation has improved... but it's still bad out there, trust me.

Sounds like a good story to tell when you're 70 yo =P.
I'm going to a small city near the borders in a charity organization group, can't wait for it.

sorry if I made some of you worried. I'm oke, actually better then I've ever been. I haven't been online much since I've been back from Iraq. I've been quite busy and when I am on my computer now and then I play a game for an hour and that's it. The trip to Iraq was the best I ever had. It totally changed my plans for the future. Iraq is developing pretty quick and is heading in the right way. I'm planning to return to Iraq for good in 5 years. My oldest sister is already living there, my other sister will be moving to Iraq in 3 months and my parents will follow in 2 years. Anyways, just wanted to say that I'm oke and though I won't be replying much anymore I'll always keep checking SRF now and then
