looks pretty much like what humans have always done...

Flying/gliding is the easy part, the landing is the thing that gets us... :D

^ You joking right? Yah its cool with the weightlessness and all but I don't see too much adrenalin there. Especially when he's got a camera crew possibly with emergency oxygen tanks following him down and up again.

I don't think i could control my body like that the first time. Probably takes a lot of practice to get your body go exactly where you want it to. Those near misses and thight fits were very cool.

Has anyone tried to do a barrel or aileron roll like that? Maybe a loop? :sohappy:

I haven't seen a barrel roll but an aileron roll yes. Something interesting I found out about these wing suits from Wikipedia. The glide ratio is only 2.5....So for every 1 foot of vertical drop you gain 2.5 feet of horizontal flight. It doesn't seem to be correct when you look at how well these guys are flying through trees and hillside rocks. But that might just be from the slope of the mountain that they leap from which makes it appears that they are flying horizontally.

That rope swing thing is farking awesome as well :o
Seems more safer as well. Must require quite some courage to jump off that cliff though :)

That's how the Russians do it. Looks cheaper.

And for some reason they also do this. Why not do a Leap of Faith from there AC style?

Those last two videos are just crazy. I mean, why would you want to do that? I doubt it gives nearly half as much of a rush as the rope thing does.

They were using jet-powered wingsuits. You can see that in the video strapped to his feet. He is inventor of it actually and it's not commercially viable. That's from the same wiki about the glide ratio, just a little lower.
