Faith in humanity restored?

Post by Majorharper »

Hey guys, as you might have read in one of my previous threads, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer one month ago. Her best friend has decided to have a fund raising event where she will publicly get her head shaved in front of a lot of people to mentally help my mom to get through these rough times. Im not forcing you to donate, but even 5$ would be appreciated. Its for a good cause and there is really no need for flamming of any sort in this thread. I know most of us are short on money and have barely enough to pay rent etc.. Just to say im in the same boat, i dont have a job and i need to pay my pilot license which isnt cheap, and i will be donating over 100$ (because its my mom) but anything is possible, for those who have had extremely close family members with cancer will probably understand my point of view. Thanks everyone, i know srf still has a lot of heart left.

Here is the site if you want to donate: http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR/Copsfor ... r_id=11672

Yes it is in french i summed the text up for you in my post. The donate button is above the thermometer.

Best wishes to your mother. I think it would be great to have a little comment board somewhere there (of course something that requires admin approval before publicly displayed) so she can read people's messages for her. It might not seem much but that little boost does help improve people's psychological and emotional wellness. A lot of my patients have/had cancer and one thing I noticed is that it's always the small things that keep them going; a piece of chocolate, a card, or a few caring words is all it takes.

Best Regards,
Nurse inky =)
