Ok so i've had my new computer for abut 2 months now and I absolutely love it. I can run everything on ultra without lag, but I only bought a 80 GB SSD drive because at the time HDD prices were through the roof.
Have the prices gone down? and if they have does anyone have a link to a good 500gb++ one, preferably from new egg.

I just checked the Dutch prices for hard drives and it's 5 cents for one gigabyte. How did that hold you back?

You guys don't import from thailand? U.S. has a hard cap of one HDD per person at all major electronic retailers. (or at least where I live)

Why is there a limit on the amount of hard drives you can buy? Seems very 'un-American' to me..

Supply was very limited which is why prices went up so high. 500gb was like $200 or so which before the floods were $50 if I recall? Forgive me if I'm wrong. Someone else could have bought all of them and resold them for more. 'un-american' lol

I would stick to the SSD you have there. No moving parts and thus no grinding noise after a few years.. plus a faster seek time than HDD. If its more storage you want I'd opt for an external HDD. Your files are more secure that way and less likely to be damaged/corrupted if something should happen to your PC. My next computer will surely have a SSD instead of a HDD.

It's still kind of high for hard drives. The prices are recovering, but they're not back to pre-flood levels.
BuDo, SSD should only be used for files you wont write/rewrite often. Do that a lot, and you shorten the lifespan of the SSD quite a bit. That's why SSD's are often boot drives and nothing else.
