Buying used iPod

Post by TheDrop »

Hey all
Im trying to buy a used iPod classic, just wanted to ask whats the best site for it?
Craiglist
ebay
amazon

i was trying to buy from craiglist but my parents are too lazy to pick take me to the place where i get to buy it (+they dont think its safe..) and the prices seem to be higher than on ebay
Is buying from ebay good? As you wouldnt be able to test it out what if its broken/not working properly?
And amazon, are the sites that it links to all 3rd party websites right, so im guessing if the iPod turns out to not be working (or they scam you), you are basically fcked, right?

Also, is there any physical size difference between 5th generation and 6th generation classic?
thanks
let it gooooo let it gooooOoOooOOOOOO

well if you buy from an ebay verified seller, usually they will pay you back if it's a scam. Craigslist is a 50/50 shot. Either you get lucky and a real seller selling you stuff, or you get mugged.

hm yeah
I found a classic 80gb for 52$ on ebay- way low than id have expected. the return is 3days+ shipping fee

feedback score is 141 (100% positive)
should i buy it?

also, when does the auction close before the actual closing time for people that havent bidded yet on the item?

Also- it says "NO RESERVE"- any idea what that means o_O
let it gooooo let it gooooOoOooOOOOOO

I don't know about ebay, but going by the crap my mom watches on BBC, No Reserve means no minimum bid is required for the item to be sold. If it's an item someone may hold dear or wants at least some minimum amount of cash for, they can put a reserve on. If the bids don't go over the reserve the item isn't sold.

Not where it will start. it's just a minimum in order to sell. On my mom's tv shows they just start bidding at normal price and if they don't reach the reserve it doesn't sell. the end. I'm never quite sure whether the buyer is aware of how high the reserve is set. That's how it works in real life TV auctions anyway :P
