MrTwilliger wrote:The concept in my eyes is simply laughable at best. The theory behind it all is that a specific range and order of different sound frequencies would induce "drugs like affects" upon a person and alter their state of mind. Honestly, just go buy some pills and save yourself the effort. The video I posted, though a bit over done, mocks the whole idea pretty well.
Want to know what real mind altering music is? Pink Floyd. Listen to their albums and you'll re-think the way you perceive anything. It's the closest thing to legal drugs that we have.

I'm not sure where you live, but there's a high probability that alcohol and cigarettes are legal in your country.

Kinda, how ever there is also sounds that is supposed to give you a certain feeling. None worked on me though. How ever a close family member tried that Gates of Hades "soundtrack", she ended up jumping, crying and screaming that we would take it off her. Apperantly she had seen a white room and a chair that she was stuck in and the walls was moving closer and closer.

This is sorta relevant and happened to me a short while ago when I got really into the music.
So I've gone to bed with my iPod which consisted of dubstep, downtempo, post-rock, relaxing kinda stuff and I'm listening to the music visualizing the song and the sounds - like seeing lights and movements and actually seeing the sounds if that makes any sense.
Eventually I'm asleep but not really, idk what to call it, and after a while the song "The Teranbos Prayer" by Terra Tenebrosa comes on. And I just recently downloaded this album so I hadn't listened to it yet.
So the song comes on and it's really atmospheric and by this point I'm completely immersed in the music. The beginning of the song with the drums felt particularly long and very creepy - it felt like it went on for half an hour or something. So as soon as the shouts dropped a 2:32 I woke the **** up and shat bricks. I saw some hella scary white grungy distorted faces screaming at me. They seemed to be in pain or something. They weren't even looking at me, but that's why I shat monumental bricks. Just an example of getting into the music but iDosing seems ridiculous unless you really are on actual drugs or under some other influence.
Song:Spoiler!
