I was in love once. When I was with her I couldn't of imagined being with anyone else. She captured my heart and had my soul in the grips of her hand. Even when cheated on me, after multiple times of taking her back and being cheated on, she was still the only girl I cared for. 3 years later and I'm still single, haven't been really interested in anyone since and I still don't think I've moved on and got closure from the whore ordeal.

The whole problem of polygamy is that unless you have women with multiple men, you'll create an abundance of men. Granted on a small scale, this is moot. But if it were common in lets say the whole USA, it would create more sexual crimes such as rape according some documentary I say a few years ago.

I've read so many harem manga by now that I really couldn't care less. If the people are happy and don't mind sharing then sure, why not? It's not for everybody anyway so even if it was entirely legal I doubt a large amount of people would be doing it.

Not for me, thanks. Everyone forgets that with more than one woman, unless you have really mature people in the relationship there is usually jealousy of some sort. And you have to keep in mind each person has their own likes/dislikes. What if wife # 1 hates rollercoasters but wife 2 and 3 love them? I suppose # 1 stays at home while the rest go out?

I can only see that as a massive challenge. If he can do it, more power to him.

Real life story:

So, as a gay, people often associate me with being a slut. Ok, point being I kind of am WHILE I'M SINGLE.
When I have a guy I really like, I like to be monogamous, give my all to him.
Now there's this guy I sleep with a lot, and I quite like him too, and I met him while he had a boyfriend. We slept together, and he told me he was a polygamist. I didn't understand, but when he tried to say was, that he is actually an "ethical slut". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ethical_Slut)
I asked him if he could ever be monogamous, but he can't.
As long as I'm single, I will continue seeing him. When I meet someone special, he will be out of the picture.

Thing is, I quite like him actually, and he likes me too. He said he was jealous seeing me kiss someone else while clubbing(I was drunk, and he said he wouldn't mind) and the day after he told me he has butterflies for me.

But, I want my boyfriend to be monogamous like me. Only me. As long as we're not called a "relationship" I don't mind him Farking others(though I get a bit jealous at times) and he doesn't mind me doing the same. If I have to call him my boyfriend, let him meet my parents and stuff he'd better stop sleeping with others.
Now he has a friend who is monogamous himself, and he has a boyfriend too. But his boyfriend isn't monogamous and is sleeping with others.
I couldn't live with that. It would tear me apart to KNOW that my boyfriend is cheating on me, sleeping with an other.

So because of my envious personality, I can not be a polygamist, kind of hate them tbh.

It's probably best to remain neutral about this....Its not hard to think that if you were born in such a society that you'd be OK with this. Just like how we're so OK with monogamy....It never seizes to amaze how environment and society can shape our beliefs on what is OK and what isn't.

There is one problem I'm seeing here however and that is if one of the wives fell in love with another man I don't see them incorporating him into the relationship which makes these religious polygamist relationship sexists towards women. I assume these women aren't allowed to love more than one man.
