How many songs do you guys have in your music library? I often download single tracks from different artists as well as a bunch of albums but I'm currently around 2.3k
I know some people have up to 10k+ so I'm just curious, how many songs do you guys have in your library?

[only 1k(On iTunes)] as I don't download as often anymore and money is hard to come by. still building it up though. Grooveshark is another reason I don't have as much music.
Uhh Idk the exact amount but about 30gb worth of MP3s.
45gb of FLAC.
And I probably listen to about 1k of those.

30gb of mp3 is around 7k.
I buy my movies but I just DL my music =/
I'd go bankrupt buying songs off iTunes if I did.

Every single album/song I own has been purchased legally. I've spent alot of money on music of the last few years.

I've got approximately 1900 songs.
I usually just download singles. I rarely get albums, unless I know I'll like everything on it anyway.

Problem is that most of my illegal music got lost when my laptop died and I lack time to convert my CD collection to my current PC so I only have under 2 gigs of music on my current harddrive.

I have about 2k songs at the moment. All in v0, don't know why anyone would want FLAC..
I usually download more and more until my SSD is full, then I'll delete whatever I don't listen to that is really old. I'll keep anything I grab from what.cd though. Rest of the things I listen to are on youtube playlists etc.

Unless you have thousand dollar IEM's and a SICK amp (which is more than $1000)..you will not notice a difference..
I'm not trying to be a dick, but I've done a lot of research on headphones and FLAC will not be a priority until I'm making a lot of money and can afford great headphones (not iems) and an amazing amp or similar set up.
I'm currently using westone UM1's and a fio e5 amp (very nice addition for a low price). No difference in v0 and FLAC though.

Yeah I know what the internet says but the devil is in the details. There is the smallest of differences especially when you actually listen, concentrate, and delve into the music. I'm not even using that great of IEMs (Meelec A151s. looking to get some RE-262s.) Forgive my ignorance but I don't see why you would need an amp if you have an adequate power source. Either way FLAC makes a difference for me otherwise I wouldn't even bother wasting my HDD space

Now that you've mentioned your headphones as well..I can pretty confidently say that what you're hearing is "all in your head" for lack of better terms. Also you'll have to forgive my usage of the word AMP (it's been a while since I've talked audio). Two major things that *could* increase the sound quality are amps and DACs. A computer is not always an adequate power source, and many other factors come into play such as 'rolling off' the bass or highs. An external DAC also normally does a better job than your soundcard/media player. It would take ages for me to explain it all (partly because of how much info there is and partly because remembering all of it is tough =p).
That being said..get some v0 and FLAC rips and play them one after the other without knowing which is which. Try to guess which one is which and do it for like 20-30 songs. If you can actually call all 30 of those I'd be very, very impressed. A huge problem in audio related discussions is subjective vs objective reasoning. Much like wine tasting, when you hide the wine in a paper bag they can't tell the difference!
I had this exact situation happen to me. I had probably 500~ songs in FLAC which I listened to with my $100~ IEM's and ~$150 'cans' and when I did the side by side comparison I couldn't get any of them =p Using some HD650's on the other hand gave me a noticeable difference, although I can't justify spending $500 on headphones and whatever other equipment the set-up had..
If you can tell the difference and can prove it to yourself then I'd say FLAC is a definite option for you and you've got either great ears or great equipment (or both) =p
@exsoldier
problem with that is youtube packages sound and image quality together..so to listen to a song in better quality you'd have to play the video at 720p/1080p wasting more bandwidth. Though many older videos uploaded are limited @ 480p with great sound quality, the argument of bandwidth is still there. Living in Canada sux.

ABX TestThere's also an ABX plugin for foobar for that purpose.
OT:
About a third is FLAC, most is V0 (some from the OiNK days). I've listened to almost all of it, but my iTunes library is never above ~4k songs.
