Apple has announced its next iPhone and it won't be called the iPhone 5, but rather the iPhone 4S.

From the outside, the iPhone 4S looks just like the iPhone 4 -- which may disappoint some hoping for a new form factor.

Who cares about upgraded specs.. the iPhone 4 already has great specs for daily usage. When will apple learn? That 3.5" screen is too small compared to whats out there. Sure that retina screen is crystal clear, but these days 4" is the minimum for screen sizes.

Honestly it doesn't really matter "iPhone still sucks anyway.. lulz

Completely a matter of taste. I myself don't want a phone to be bigger than my iPhone 4 is. It's small enough to feel good in the pocket of jeans and yet it's big enough for doing everything that phone is supposed to do.

Only thing that makes me laugh is the fact that Facebook is currently filled with such pages as "Like to win iPhone5" and few of my friends have actually liked those.

By any chance have an S2?

Mine keeps restarting when I'm not using it for just a few minutes, but I AM listening to music at that time. And this happens like 7 times in a row. I started a song, it plays 2 mins, the phone restarts and I have to select a song again, rinse, repeat.

It annoys the **** out of me!!!

And this never happens while I'm using it actively.

Argh.

Btw, I immedietely put the link on facebook to rub it in to the iHolics.

iPhone is a great phone. One of the best out of the box. However, these "updates" are literally worthless. The iPhone 4's specs give it an edge to be plenty fast for literally 95%+ of its users.

What the consumer wants is a new form factor - bigger screen, better feel. Holding that dense piece of metal is like a brick - also it is brittle as hell.

ALSO I'd like to point out the irony of the Samsung a5 chips. I don't get how Apple welcomes Samsung's core chips yet they sue Samsung incessantly because Samsung makes phones "too similar to iPhone".

No they are probably part of the 'apple hating' cult. No matter what product Apple makes, even if it revolutionizes the world, they will hate it.

The Iphone isn't the Mac, so just because you hate the mac doesn't give you the perfect reason to hate the iphone. The Mac is considered to be overpriced in comparison to the price of other laptops with same specs, the iphone, however, is NOT overpriced and there are plenty of Android phones that are in the same price range. The iphone is simple to use, aesthetically pleasing, and has the larger app market out of the two (although the Android market isn't far behind). This is all your average phone user needs.

There is a difference between hating the iphone for a specific reason, and trashing it just because you hate apple.

I don't understand why people expect apple to release a brand new iPhone with innovative features and cutting edge technology EVERY SINGLE YEAR. It takes time to develop new devices and even more time for post-release support. If the goal were to release a brand new phone every single year, the next 4 models would have to already be in development.

If only Siri sounded like GLaDOS or Stewie...

Have the iPhone 4, the "s" doesn't do a whole lot for me. Might just upgrade to iOS5 and be set.

I'm actually glad that they don't release the iPhone 5 yet. I've only had the 4 for a year and I don't want to buy new phone just yet.

A lot of the people who bought the iPhone bought it at release, which was June 2010, which was a year and 3 months ago. In technology time, that's a long time. Companies like Motorola and Samsung are rolling out multiple new devices a year. And no 4G antenna? Come on, no one wants to be stuck in 3g another two years while 4G has been out since the beginning of 2011.

The notifications bar, the lock screen and the voice commands were kinda silly imo.
Either way, apple makes great products in general, i just never buy them because i find them to be to expensive for their quality.

The 4s would still cost 50 euros on a 102,50 euro/month contract, for example. cheapest you can go is 35 euros a month- you'd still have to pay 310 or 460 euros for the phone then though, depending on if your contract runs for one or two years.
My phone, the HTC Desire Z cost's me 22,50 a month atm- next year it'll be 27,50, the phone came for free at that price.
