If you want to get a tattoo but aren't certain of what you want to get, you shouldn't get a tattoo.

And quotes make for ridiculously bad tattoos.

What is there to think about ? Tats are wicked cool and you know that the ladies dig them; now if there is meaning to them, something deep, you are looking at becoming 2-3 points cooler.

I would go for wait and think about it.

I have never been a Tattoo fan but no need to hurry in that.

Tatoo's normally seem like a good idea, at first. But think 20+ years down the road, are you really going to want to have that tat on you?

If it's your first tat and you aren't sure what you want, get a sleeve. You can't go wrong, and if by some chance you don't like it, just get the other arm done differently.

Also neck tats are in.

I have three tattoos and I am perfectly happy with all of them. My formula for thinking of/getting a tattoo is this:

Think of your idea. A solid, finalized idea.
Then set it aside for 6 months to a year and if after that time you still want it or it still has meaning to you, do it.

Better than tribal.

I have had my tattoo idea in my head for over a year now and I'm set on getting it done. Once I save up a little bit more money (it will cost $300-$400) I will get it done. Will I ever regret it? No, because it's a part of who I am. If I "change" or some bullshit in the future, it will be there as a reminder of where I came from and the different choices I have made in life.

Wait till you find something that means a lot to you. Keep the idea for 6+ months like curve suggested. Than consider getting it done.

I have 6 tattoos, and I am having one removed through laser treatment. Wait and think what you want, I love 5 of my tattoos, but my first one, I hate. It isn't very well done, and doesn't mean anything to me any more.

Think about it before making the decision.
- what if when you get old, your skin isn't smooth and flat anymore?
- what if your gf/wife doesn't like it because she thinks you are like a playboy?
- some people (like me) don't want hang out with people with tattoos

- Obviously your skin won't be smooth when your older!! Its the curse of getting older... :banghead:
- Then why be with someone that doesn't like tattoos? :banghead:
- Good for you, people with tattoos don't want to hang out with you. :banghead:

- that's why I said "think" before "do". You don't want a dragon to transform into a snake when you get older
- because before you didn't have a tattoo, so she hangs out with you? You didn't know if she likes people with tattoo or not.
- tattoo is for those who don't like their own body, so seek for decoration because they think their body is not "beauty" enough

Lol, not hanging out with someone who has a tattoo... What loser hates on someone because they have a small, mostly invisible tat?

- What makes you "think" that his girlfriend (don't know if he has one) doesn't like tattoos?
- You're saying that ANYONE with tattoos are ugly? What does "Beauty" enough mean?

The only kind of tattoo anyone will really judge a person on, is if they've got one of those garish huge tattoos that show up no matter what, and are ugly as hell. Lots of people have small ones, and if you see a small one a person, and suddenly go "I don't want to hang out with them." Then you're just plain stupid.

2 of mine are large, but I can keep them both covered up.

I also said ugly as hell, and sometimes it does depend on what kind of tattoo it really is.

Imo a pic is better than text(unless it's a really good quote), but it's gotta be a good pic that symbolises something.

I wanna get one (somewhere around the neck) some day.

I respect big outrageous (albeit beautiful) tattoos over small nearly invisible ones.

Getting a snowflake tattooed on your breast for obscure symbolism is like getting plastic stick-on spinners for your cheap rusted 10 year old car.

-Very rarely does someone just impulsively get a tattoo. Most people understand that this is a permanent choice
-If she doesn't like people with tattoos and I have tattoo then she's not worth being around. It's my choice and it in no way effects her
-A tattoo is a way of symbolizing something. Whether it be overused tribal tattoos, chinese characters, a phrase, or whatever, usually it is done in commemoration. For instance:

My latest tattoo I got last year is of 3 Bees. I have two sisters, our names all start with B. Thus, three Bees on my arm. Those bees will be with me no matter where the three of us are and that is important to me.

Another example. The first tattoo I got was on my left wrist. It is of my parent's initials. Same thing. Long after they're gone, they will still be with me in that sense.

I understand you're trying to troll, but I wanted to answer.

Think about it first. If the idea is still appealing after a year or two, then get it. As far as having wrinkly skin and the tat looking odd when you get older - compared to that colostomy bag that's gonna be hanging around your abdomen, the yeast infection between your toes, and that urinary catheter inside your urethra...I don't think having a wrinkled tattoo matters at all.
