Nope. wrong person lol. i just hear everyone at my school takes it to stay focused and awake and i tried it today and honestly its wonderful for school. im just scared about health issues/side effects.

yeah pretty much got me through college ...

It has dependency problems in the typical drug way, raise normal threshold, need drugs just to reach normal thinking speed, etc.

I'm a very healthy 16 year old junior, i play lacrosse and work out at the gym. i took a 25mg dose at 6am this morning and i haven't had a day this good ever. not tired at all i could focus on school work. usually i get really bored and put my head down on my arms and just rest but i still get good grades always a B or better. im just skeptical to use it sense im not prescribed it.

Obviously its easy...i average a B and i don't even pay attention and put my head down. if i actually payed attention and was motivated i could easily get straight A's. but i get drowsy and bored and when i took it i was wide awake all day.

Get 8 hours of sleep, you won't be drowsy at school.

Serious. Regular use will result in a severe dependency problems. I know they are amazing, but be careful.

I don't think you need Adderall unless you were formally diagnosed with ADHD. It's a stimulant; contrary to what idiots who never took a pharmacology class believe, it's not a magical "motivation in a tablet" or a "genius pill". Unless you really need that extra boost, there's no need for you to take any stimulants. If anything, go buy a can of red bull or a cup of coffee.

I don't think there's anything in HS that requires people to start jacking up on stimulants to study for several hours a day. Besides, you already pointed out that you still get decent/passing grades even without really studying; that's HS for you. I'm at the point where I need to read textbooks for 5-6 hours and do at least 100-250 practice questions a day and I still don't find myself popping these pills. The most would be a can of Monster or a large iced coffee.

Don't get suckered into that dumb trend. If you want to experiment with these things, at least be honest with yourself. You didn't do it because you were desperate to pass school, you did it because you're one curious sheep.

I'm not best at judging from a forum whether you need to take it or not, but as a clinician my best advice to you is to seek proper medical advice before taking a prescription only medication. You may not necessarily have ADHD, the condition itself does not have universal support within the medical community, so get checked if you believe you need help (whatever that may be).

As stated above, 8 hours of sleep is always better than taking stimulants to improve your daytime concentration.

That's your mentality? Really? Because lots of people take Adderall, probably not prescribed, for high school, that's your validation?

More sleeping hours would be better man. Seems useless but I've noticed that I'm in a much better mood when I get those extra hours of sleep. Sadly, it's hard to break the habit of not sleeping late.

Sleeping more has no where near the same effects as popping an adderall. Why does everyone keep saying that. >.<

Because I don't know what le adderall is.

We're just saying that sleeping could probably achieve the same results as he is looking for more "energy" to be able to go through the day.

Understood. If you don't have ADHD or any sort of disorder that warrants the prescription of adderall you'll feel some pretty powerful effects from it, well beyond anything a good nights sleep, proper nutrition, or willpower can provide. I know, I've done it on several occasions.

Adderall is made with several different amphetamine salts and is basically just a less potent form of meth(amphetamine).

Get more sleep and improve your diet. You shouldn't need drugs to make you focused in school, just pull your socks up and start paying attention.

I'm going to get a pill or two before I take my SAT in October. I don't suggest you use adderall for just "anything" only for very important tests. It contains amphetamine which is suppose to be addictive.

The minor gain you get is not worth the plethora of downsides coupled with taking amphetamines.

If you have to rely on that to pass high school.. good luck with life after. High School is probably the easiest thing you'll do as a young adult. Motivation shouldn't come from drugs.

Oh, btw, if you're gonna take that for tests, you need to take it when you're studying for that test as well or you will do worse. If you don't understand why, pop some pills and then research it. (p.s. use google scholar)

I already have a good enough score to get into uni's I'm just aiming for a scholarship.
