Maybe not for you -- at least when it comes to restraining yourself from killing a 5-year-old. Unfortunately, not everyone has the "tools" we do in life. Of course she is still culpable for her crime but if she is to be released, they need to deal with that problem (hence rehabilitation) instead of just focusing on the punishment aspect of her imprisonment.

This is what really made me mad. She's that selfish that she'd rather not get punished then to let her own son live. He could've survived. This ho doesn't deserve to have a baby. They should beat the sh!t out of her and throw her away until she dies of her injuries.
