idiot.
there is never any reason to kill someone (obvious exceptions) - and over a TV. Practically tortured the kid. She should be taught some real values and prison really won't help. Shes gonna prance around reeking of wrong morals everywhere she goes.
He really shouldn't have broken the TV though (Don't assume why I say that).

Not deliberately but if you were already mad for something you would maybe just explode and do it without actually wanting to do it.

When you are pissed off you can do really stupid shit. But then again, i guess you can say tis the mom's fault for getting so pissed off over a TV

I doubt she even sees him as a "son".

Gave birth at the age (21-5 = 16), the baby would be a burden.

Well after reading the article it seems this women
has prior arrests for assault and drug use...also given how she
waited or there lack of to take him to the hospital in which
it took him five days to die from internal injuries. Its a shame
that the state she lives in doesnt still enforce the death penalty.

If there was ever a bigger shout for an improved social service
system in the US (its almost if not as bad as the UK one) then
this is it.

Maybe not for you -- at least when it comes to restraining yourself from killing a 5-year-old. Unfortunately, not everyone has the "tools" we do in life. Not to make an excuse for the parent, but people deal with anxiety the way they learn how to. You can't deal with it differently unless you've been exposed to and have utilized a less maladaptive/violent one before. She succumbed to her anger as quickly as she surrendered to her fear and denial without really having a moment to think things through first (as Freud would've said, an ego or a mediator; or in Eric Berne's words, an Adult -- and probably a maladaptive Superego/Parent). Her impulsiveness is most likely caused by an underlying mental (legally unaccountable in a lot of cases) and personality disorder (legally accountable) -- depending on her frequency and level of addiction to narcotics, that definitely will be factored in as well; not to stereotype but it probably came from growing up with abusive parents and being exposed to violence constantly - her anxiety becomes displaced and channeled towards anything that causes it (whether direct or indirect) because she did not learn healthier methods of venting it out. Of course she is still culpable for her crime but if she is to be released, they need to deal with that problem (hence rehabilitation) instead of just focusing on the punishment aspect of her imprisonment.

''The incident took place on June 13, yet it took five days of agonizing pain - during which Crawford refused to take her son to the hospital out of fear for what she had done - before the boy succumbed to massive internal injuries and passed away.''

This is what really made me mad. She's that selfish that she'd rather not get punished then to let her own son live. He could've survived. This ho doesn't deserve to have a baby. They should beat the sh!t out of her and throw her away until she dies of her injuries.
