My sister is studying architecture and I think it's really cool. Because of her study I see a lot of interesting designs and concepts and that's made me determine what I want a bit more.

I like modern houses with a lot of glass 'walls' on the outside, mixed with big plain concrete walls and rough wood. I like fireplaces too, especially combined with concrete.
This house really has some nice features that fit the bill.
I'm trying to make a 'loft' with everything I like in Google Sketch, but it proves to be difficult I am not patient enough for that kind of stuff, but I think it's really interesting nonetheless.
I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's tastes are around here.

log cabins, I'd love to live in a log cabin, so quaint

I like both extremes: Extremely modern or outdoors-y log cabin. I'd love to have a modern style home to live in on a daily basis and a log cabin vacation home on some nice land.

Yeah I went "house hunting" with my parents last weekend. Some houses are so jizztastic. I love when the basement has a really high-leveled roof.

I really love the house i currently live in. Its partly old house and partially new modern. So, it used to be an old villa but then, an architect cut one part that was not restorable off and built a new modern part. So, my house now has this big ass tower left and the rest all modern

Anything that's high. Penthouse lofts and such.

made a few designs in sims3 but de-installed the game.

But, about every outdoor wall is filled with windows, spread along the whole wall, for a 360 view of the city I reside in. Japanese-styled indoors with sliding doors, dark wooden floors yet very modern. a specious entrance hall, and in the middle of the house a 10m by 10m zen garden with simple plants that don't require direct sunlight, maybe a pond-like idea and some bamboo. Further there is also a deck around the house, sticking out about 5m form the walls so I can walk all around, and have sun all day. The whole house is one floor and on top of a high building. japanese style low roof and also a garden like idea about 50cm below the decks that stretches out on the rest of my rooftop

Me, i love open-space houses.

One of the favorites of mine, that i can easily get you pictures of, is the Clunny house in Singapore, i've been there twice, and it amazes me each time. I know it's supposed to be a Green house and all that, yay eco-friendly... but i like it for the design.



I guess in the end though, it all depends on where one lives, that style of house wouldn't be best suited for non-equatorial weather. Harsh winters would destroy that house IMO

Man I wonder if I'll ever get the ability/means to be able to design my own house. It doesn't have to be that crazy expensive, but I guess it won't be cheap

I'd prefer a house that's built into the side of a hill, so it's always cool in the summer and not overly cold in the winter. With a cellar-type deal built in since the ground would always be cool.

Log cabins properly constructed could probably withstand a tornado.

Well you can always design it..

But making it is a different story.

I like neo style, then gothic style.

I only play New Year's Eve one though, I think that's enough. Don't wanna get my hopes up every damn month. This year is the year though! I feel it!

I love modern houses, preferably with high ceilings.

Personally, I prefer city apartments, or inner city terraced houses over your average home.
