So apparently Obama made an announcement that Israel should give Palestine back some of their land. Going back to the borders that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War.
I was curious as to what you all thought about this. Do you approve of what Obama's trying to do, oppose it, or just don't give a shit about it?

I haven't watched the video in full but I'm pretty sure this is the one where he talks about forgiving 1 Billion in debt to Egypt.
I don't think other countries should get involved to this problem, Israel AND Palestinian are acting like big KIDS, i think this is issue between them and they should find a solution offcourse USA can have an opinion but still it's up to them two find a way to get allong, im still waking up in the morning waiting for the peace that will come..

edit: on topic though, I really don't know what to think about the Israel-Palestine situation. I used to always 'support' Israel, but lately it's hard to support any side. I think Israel is really backing Palestine into a corner, giving them absolutely no room whatsoever. The 'colonization' of Palestine land is really taking it a step too far imo. But then again, what the **** do I really know.

Still I lol at people telling Israel to give the land back.. I also love how well Israel has done in such short time compared to the Arab countries around it that love to fight dirty.. I mean Israel is actually helping the US when it comes to technology.

Giving land back for peace is bullshit. If you look back at 1967, Israel didn't have this land yet and those arabs still thought they could gang up on Israel. They got their asses kicked. Israel shouldn't have to give back the land.
This isn't some pussified children's game where everyone gets to play and wins a reward at the end, Obama. This is real life and in the game of war, you play for keeps.

I think they should relocate the Jewish country to a place where's there's less hate. And do it right this time. You have the UN so discussion is possible. Plan a better place, buy the land from the people, put Jewish ppl there, away from all the hate in the middle east. Zionism didn't exist until after 1948.
The problem is back when Israel was "established", British was in control of that area. They were the rulers and thus, whatever they said went. Now that every nation has gained it's own government, you can't enforce your will anymore without conquering them first.
History has taught us, if you want to take over someone else's land, you must either trade for it, eliminate the former residents and take it by force, or just don't do it. "Permanent occupation" and hoping it'll all smooth over and ppl will forget you kicking their ancestors out won't work. There's a reason for the trail of tears in America's history. To completely take over, you must oust the old and dessimate them. Half-assing will only lead to further bloodshed on both sides over a petty fight.

Tbh, it really matters how you view the past and current situation. Some believe the Jews took the land by force, some say they came peacefully and bought the land. There is evidence to support both claims.
If it was the case where the "Zionists" came to Palestine and destroyed numerous villages to "cleanse" the land, then yes Palestinians deserve land back.
But I think that ideology is a bit extreme. It all traces back to the United Nations voting on whether the Jews should migrate there or not, which was very much opposed from the beginning by Palestinian Arab leaders. Bloodshed was evident. I see no harm in giving some of the land back if it could ease down tempers over there.

yeah but the problem is that the western world is responsible for creating and more importantly arming Israel. Had it not been for that interference Israel would've naturally got it's ass kicked the moment western powers decided to dictate that certain land would no longer be in control of the gov'ts/people who it belong to. It would be like Iraq invading France and then carving out a section of the country for the muslims, then giving them nukes and the power to basically say **** you to anyone who wants to argue with their sovereignty.
TBH i think the palestinians have been greatly wronged since the beginning and while Hamas hasn't helped their PR i think Israel gets away with A LOT of BS. All those settlements which are breaking international law and no western power is telling israel to stop but if the palestinians were to launch and offensive and do the same thing they'd be labeled as terrorist and invaders. The western world has to be involved in the peace operation because we're entirely responsible for this conflict. But at this point Israel has enough military power to say **** you to any country and the US isn't going to do much to their middle eastern fortified baby. The only way i see peace happening is if Israel loses that edge which will only happen if the majority of the middle east becomes Pro-US.

Probably one of the only reasonable post in this topic, while it doesn't touch on everything it pretty much sums up most of the problem with whats happening. However for the part that no western power is telling them to stop isn't exactly 100% true, while most of them support Israels existence some countries (mainly Germany) have come out and said that they honestly are tired of Israels lack of peace talks. However non of this matters because until USA does something (mainly quits vetoing any discussion in the security council over the issues over there), nothing will really change, sadly. Which is pretty much what you covered, just a bit more information for others.
