IT WAS a harmless craze just four days ago. Kerri-Anne Kennerley opened her television talk show lying balanced, face-down, on the back of a couch. Karl Stefanovic was lying flat on the Today show desk in front of the cameras. But early yesterday morning, the ''planking'' fad sweeping social networking sites proved fatal. Acton Beale, 20, was positioning himself on a balcony railing seven storeys up in Brisbane when he lost his footing and plunged to his death in the car park below.
Planking is a simple exercise, to build up your abdominal muscles, i knew it from exercising alot not too long ago, 1minute of planking, is the equality to 100 sit ups.
Back on topic, the more I thought about this today the more the idea appeals to me. Not in a way in which I would want to do it, rather the creativity and sense of being involved in such a concept. I was at working, looking around, creating scenes and places which would just look "cool". I was talking to a guy at work about it and he said that he was participating in a marathon. He sprinted from the start, got a bit of a lead on everyone and just started 'planking' on the spot. Everyone had to run around or over him and hilarity was had. That side of it appeals to me
lol this looks like something the onion would make up. How stupid do you have to be... I say if you're stupid enough to follow a stupid internet craze like this, you prolly deserve to fall off a fcking building. Sorry but the only word coming to my mind when I see this stuff is "dumbass"(Red-70s show)
Spoiler!
LMAO great comment right here:
The government must do something. We must ban this activity immediately before see more deaths!!

Making this illegal is like making it illegal to use stairs without holding onto the hand rail.
Point = More people die on stairs than they have from Planking/Laying Down Game. For those that missed that
Relatively new fad, give it time. If the whole purpose of the "game" is to find more dangerous and exciting spots to "plank," then that doesn't exactly scream safe or smart.
lol @ you guys even debating this... This is stupid.. Nuff said. Let the idiots make fools of themselves, if they die in the process -more power to em.
The fad is absolutely stupid. I seen a bunch of idiots planking out front of Flinders St Station the other day... I just wanted to pull them up to their feet. They're doing it all over the city, it's embarrassing!
The guy who died in Brisbane, I do not care for. Serves him right. Natural selection at its best.
Just a bit of a bump on this thread, last night (or was it the night before) another planking attempt went wrong. 2 teenagers were attempting a plank on a moving car, one driving the car and the other planking. The boy planking fell off and is in hospital in a critical condition. The driver is facing manslaughter if the boy passes, negligent driving and various other road offences. He may potentially face jail time for it. I will post a link later on when I find one, I saw the story in the TV.
If anything, the recent media attention to 'planking' has only served to spread it's popularity and encourage people to do it. It's so counter-productive -.-
