Tablets

I was planning to get one for college. Use it for taking notes and other such things. I have a netbook right now so I don't have to worry about flash support and those things (would be nice).

I normaly don't take notes because it got so unorginized. But if I thought if I had it on a tablet I could transfer it w/e.

Was looking at the Archos 10 but I am unsure if I could get a pen to use with it so I could write with it.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry but I couldn't help it. Why not a mini-laptop?

Yeah, just get a netbook, writing with a tablet is harder than it looks.

Well I meant writing with a pen using the touch screen.

don't know if this would work on other tablets but I don't see why not.

yeah but for real I think sticking w/ your netbook and actually using it to take notes would be wiser.

Then how would I take notes for math? drawing pictures to remind myself what a spefic item looks like?

EDIT: also my networking classes I might need to draw a network layout put in ip's and such.

I have a tablet for school and I only use the keyboard to take note really, I type much faster than I can write on with the pen.

is there a pen/app that would help with my task? I might get an ipad for this reason only if it can do it. then other stuff I could use a tablet for.

What kind of app are you after? You want to be able to draw/write with your finger? I'm pretty sure there's a number of apps on the iPad for that. And if you need to type (which I prefer to taking notes with my finger...) you can get the wireless keyboard.

I love my iPad and since buying it use my macbook far less (only time I really use my macbook is if something is too tedious to do on the ipad or if I want to use photoshop)

Was thinking of getting a pen to use with it so it would be like writing notes on paper but digital. I don't know what apps are out there I don't have an android or ios device at all.

I'm thinking of taking an iPad too...

Since I have fuckin' heavy books and also have to take my work clothes with me, it'd be a lot lighter on my shoulders. My laptop is so heavy!!

But it'd be hell for my neck though I think, since it's not very ergonomic..

You could always pic up what I used to take notes with. They're fairly inexpensive and easy to use.

QFT haha.
Gadgets I feel make things even more unorganized and difficult. Just get some sort of accordion folder or an organized notebook or something and arrange it by date. That's what I do and I can find any notes from any day haha. Typing really isn't necessary for notes?

I'm not talking about typing I am talking about using a pen that works with the said tablet so I can write my notes in a digital format.

I got both an ipad and the bamboo tablet.

I didn't like the bamboo for taking notes. It's fine for artwork, but for note taking where you are press for speed, it lacks precision

Ipad had precision since you could see what you where you were placing the pen, but it lacked accuracy. This may have been my cheap pen, but I couldn't get it to draw a continuous line so it looked like I would pick up the pen every once in a while. It made the notes look crappy.

I'd really suggest pen/paper and a scanner to make it digital

Well not too sure about it, never had one, I guess you can find one at best buy or target, not too sure, price range could be 150 - 500$ depending on the size/quality.

I think microsoft office one note can take care of that, or get the drivers for it online, and I guess it would come with a feature that can make your mouse pointer turn into a pen??

Never bought one, only seen people with it on photoshop...
