One way to predict an earthquake within a day or two is to look at the sky. The night before the minor earthquake we had in indiana, the sky was an odd color red. It was cloudy and after 8pm in the winter season, so it should have been damn near pitch black. But it was still a bright, red color.

i have heard this, but im pretty sure its due to a change in the electronic rresonance in the ionosphere. or something like that.

I dunno, here in Florida, the sky turns red usually before or around the time of a huge downpour. That was due to the high humidity bending the light though. Not sure about earthquakes at higher latitudes.

For ****'s sake.. If this "earthquake prophet" is so damn smart why didn't he predict the Japan quake?

There is no way you can predict an earthquake at this moment. If it would be even slightly possible, they would surely have had some kind of sign before the earthquake in Japan. Since they didn't even get one little sign before one of the most powerful earthquakes ever I don't believe one word of what mister Jim says.
Nevertheless an earthquake will hit California someday and when that happens I fear a major bloodbath.

yeah but, if it hits, and anyone in your sphere of influence even acts remotely remorsful, you can do the cool thing and tell them how uncool they are for doing so... its a win win. americans die and you get to be cool.

Earthquakes can be predicted, just not with much accuracy. Since there's so many different types, it's hard to detect them since each give off a different signal. What you can tell is when the plates start to rub against each other, small tremors will usually be given off. This is usually only present when the plates are at an angle. Like one is bound to go over or under the other. When the plates are just pushing directly on each other and the result is both going up or down, or if the plates are just too close to each other, there might only be a few tremors and years or decades before the pressure reaches a critical point and the plates break.

This man is smart. Not for the fact that he's "predicting" an earthquake, but for the fact that he's going about letting people know the sneaky way.
He lays out the most blanket statement of "California will be hit by an earthquake," then he throws some bullshit information at you and people believe it.
Oh, America...you disappoint me.

Since it has a history with earthquakes, it's inevitable that another earthquake will hit it in the future.

I always knew that as;
Red sky in the morning is a shephards warning, red sky at night is a shephards delight.
