What do?

I'm almost crying

Slightly exagerating...
Alright so I was deleting all my useless pictures in my "
My Pictures" folder. I save any "random" pictures I get from the Internet there.
Within the "
My Pictures" folder, I have my "
Photoshop" folder which has folders for all my PNGs,PSDs,Avatars,C4Ds,Textures,Stock,Renders,etc. As I was saying, I was only deleting the pictures in "
My Pictures" not the ones in my "
Photoshop" folder.
Next thing you know, there's nothing but my "Texture" folder in my "Photoshop" folder left. Wtf?! I started panicking, though of System Restore but apparently I never had any previous restore point...

I do know I pressed "Ctrl+A" to select all the pictures then went to Shift+Delete them(delete permanently) so I'm guessing it somehow selected my "Photoshop" folder but it still woudn't make sense because the "
Photoshop" folder is still there with the "
Textures" folder in it.
What do? That's like literally a year of GFXing gone.

See if this will work.http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/15761/re ... u-live-cd/
I'd follow the photorec part since you only want to recover your photoshop stuff.

So do I need Ubuntu for it? Looks really complicated too.

Managed to recover like half of them through
Recuvia but most of them are now corrupted.

At least I have the PNGs of them on DeviantArt I guess...
I don't get why Windows didn't make a restore point at like every Critical Update. It does it for my sisters laptop...

There is probably an option for that.
-Thats why I always keep a copy of my most current work on my flash drive and dropbox. I also copy all of my work every three weeks onto an external HDD.

Paranoia is the best way to go here. Example: Dad has all important family picture on his main HDD, an External HDD, and another External HDD, which is never connected to any machine, unless for an update, when he is not connected to the internet... you should do the same i guess

No idea man. Anyways it only managed to recover half the PNGs(which are already on my DeviantArt anyways), no the PSDs.

Dont feel worse by not having a restore data point in your list, it will only reset options and installs, not your files.
