It's 4PM..I need to study. My neighbors are playing shitty "party" music with max bass. My mind is going numb and my brain cells are dying faster than the Jews during WWII. I tried knocking on our shared wall, yelling, hitting it with a thick 1500+ page textbook. Nothing seems to work. My speakers can only mask their music but not the bass. I feel like killing them. Any suggestions? How do you guys deal with noisy neighbors?

tell them to STFU or call the cops

Go to their place and headbutt the musician.

send a noise complaint to whoever owns your building.

They're just playing loud new pop/dance MTV "music" ...with a max bass speaker. Holy shit, now I know why people just snap and go on a killing spree.

@cpinney: I wish. We live in a house but we share a wall. It's one of those wall-to-wall houses in NY. Noise complaint won't work. The cops here just don't give a shit. I have several options: tell them to tone down the bass. Move to the basement and wrap myself in egg crates. Or walk into their house with a kitchen knife and stab them to death.

The fact that I'm studying topics that require my full attention doesn't help either. There's a large hard cover medical dictionary next to me that I could turn into a murder weapon.

had the same problem. the worst thing you can do, is call the cops. this will only worsen your relationship and they will also call the cops the next time you make a bit of noise. i just went to their house and went on all supersaiyan on them and it helped.

I walked around the house to find out where the speakers are. I found it. Hit the wall several times, got a response, and told them to 'fucking tone it down'

They took out the bass and lowered the volume a little bit. Seems like they're having a party. Now I'm back to studying. Sometimes I wonder why I'm in the business of health care when most of the patients who come in are ignorant undereducated scums who collect unemployment checks... much like these assholes who are too lazy to even shovel snow off their yard.

Obviously I don't know what kind of people your neighbours are but I share an apartment with 2 other guys and one was always listening to loud music. I just went over, banged on his door and asked him to turn it down a notch. Then again I'm tall and wide and he's some miniature, well, nerd but still. Unless they are total jackasses I'd just go over there and ask them to turn it down because you have to study o.O

I live in a small triplex (3 apartments, one on each floor) and this happens to me every weekend. 4 times since October i've had my car also blocked into its parking spot from his friends parking behind me; I got them to move it twice and had to take the taxi twice.

I've bitched, complained, and yelled. The hard part? The stupid mother fucker is my landlord. His dad bought the building and put him in charge.

I live in halls, and the hall next to mine plays music at around 3am on weekdays. Now thats annoying.

If they had some sort of hearing impairment that won't allow them to enjoy their music without blasting it on max volume and getting the bass to make the entire block vibrate, then I would sort of reconsider my words, but they don't. It's completely unnecessary, especially if you know that your neighbors are one wall away from you. Just because it's not illegal does not mean it's not disrespectful.

As far as 3AM noise, that usually belongs to the Dominican family who live two houses away from here -- next to my other neighbor. Another 'family' of unemployed (fact) scums whose only job is to litter and be the shitting pit of society that they are. They, or one of their party "amigos" broke our front window with a beer bottle so I have every right to judge them. Plus, they're living off my taxes.

I'm pretty sure their are rules, or even laws, against loud music. No matter what time it is you're not allowed to have the music so loud it bothers people around you. The guy from my apartment had his music so loud I could hear it through my own music while I was wearing a headset lol

Talking to them is your best bet.. if you're really that bothered.

Complain or go to the police and they'll probably just put it louder (i would). Pretty much the only reason they would turn it down is out of courtesy.

@curve: I don't think your tiny head can grasp the idea of courtesy. I really don't mind the noise. That's not my main problem. I can simply block it out with my own music or just put on my ipod. But when I feel my own head shaking and my coffee mug vibrating from their speakers, there's really no excuse for that. You can talk shit all you want about me but at the end of the day, you're just another internet cunt whose opinions equate to nothing for me. @moshe: it's over. They got the message yesterday and they realized they're skullfucking their neighbors with that bass. I wouldn't wanna call the cops on anyone since that would only create more problems later on - I don't wanna open that door. I was just ventng out a little bit here since I was extremely irritated yesterday. I have my finals tomorrow and all I could hear and feel for half the day was their Farking bass. Anyway, it's over now.
