Ok...so I fell asleep during class and missed the whole lecture on how to do these problems. I was wondering if anyone could help me out and kinda explain step by step how to do them. They aren't really difficult at all..but like I said, I missed the entire lecture due to my lack of sleep..so any help would be appreciated.

Here are the problems:

Change each expression to a form involving addition and subtraction of terms by applying the laws of logarithms.

2.log ab^2c
4.log x^a y^b/z
6.log cube root of a^2 b^5

Find the log of each number in the given base
8. log5 28.9
10.log11 77

Evaluate the following problems using logarithms.

12. (871)(4.93)^3/27.4

No I'm not. The only dutch I know is Jij hebt seks met ezels. And that's from a tv show hahah. I guess that's not good if the only sentence you can speak in another language is insulting.

log(a^b) = b*log(a)

log(a*b) = log(a)+log(b)

log(a/b) = log(a)-log(b)

loga(b) = log(b)/log(a)

Shouldn't be hard to do now.

Ok thanks Kill. And yea...squirt, I pretty much don't listen in my class at all...And I take notes every now and then. I could probably have an A rather than a C in the class...but I just don't try. I hate math.

it will get to a point where science more or less = math. equations explain more of the natural world than words ever could...

You mean language is most important right? Math and all other thought is useless if you can't communicate it lol

sure, language is important. but it is natural to us as humans. you don't have to take a class to learn how to speak. yes, you do have to learn written language, but it isn't necessary for communication.

not really. today some isolated amazonian tribes still have no words for numbers. they only have words for relative quantities such as some or alot. even the most simplest level of arithmetic such as counting or realizing the comparison between numbers and an exact quantity must be learned.
