just read that the Egyptian government has shut down the whole internet and all mobile networks. they're really desperate to get the situation under control, but they won't succeed. I really hope that, after Tunisia, Egypt will get rid of her dictator. The people finally have gathered the guts to oppose their corrupt government. If only my people had done that when Saddam was still in power, then Iraq wouldn't be as raped as it is today.

Good for them, unfortunate that the rest of "us" are still sucking on a big one.

Mubarak names Omar Suleiman as VP

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak has named intelligence chief Omar Suleiman as his first ever vice-president as he struggles to regain control of the country.
Aviation Minister Ahmed Shafiq has also been appointed as prime minister.
Tens of thousands of protesters defied the curfew to remain on the streets, despite army warnings.
There have been clashes in Alexandria, Cairo and Ismailiya. At least 74 people have been killed in the last two days.
In Cairo, police fired rubber bullets and tear gas in clashes with protesters at the interior ministry, but the army did not intervene. Injuries have been reported.
Cairo, Alexandria and Suez are under an extended curfew from 1600 to 0800 (1400-0600 GMT).

will side with the people against the government.

They pretty much already have:

The crowd went unchallenged by troops, who, in extraordinary scenes unfolding around the capital's central Tahrir Square, smiled and shook hands with protesters and invited them up onto their tanks.

Oooo I can't wait to see what the alternative will be... If you think they are just going to throw out the dictator and get some friendly people loving person/group in power, than you more than likely have another thing coming. Its completely possible that the ppl in power next will be worse and probably start trouble with other non-Muslim countries.
