Hola

So I traded my ipod touch for a xbox 360 pro with my friend. As of yet i tested if it opens, but dont have a controller yet <,<.

So i have a few questions

1) Can you play xbox 360 w/o the hard drive? If so, how much can you save (how much gb?)
2) How much is the hard drive worth? Im guessing its either 20GB or 60GB but its not written there..
3) Is Gears of war 2 a good game? Better then like GTA 4?
4) How much do VGA HDAV cables cost (cheap ones?)

My friend wants to trade xbox controller + Gears of War 2 for 20$ + the hard drive but i don't know what to do

Help pl0x

1. without a hard drive at all? yes, but you won't be able to save anything. also think you're limited to single player, but not sure about that.
2. don't really understand this question. there's a lot of different hard drive sizes for the 360, and if you're asking price.. that would also depend. if you're asking for a way to tell what size it is without putting it in, don't know sorry.
3. co-op campaign with a friend is really fun. multiplayer however is kind of meh sadly. there's better games out there but you might like it. better than gta4? close but no.
4. $15-30 depending on where you buy it from. i think mine was 20 at wal-mart, was a while ago.

Good trade btw. I'd send you a controller if I could... my friend gave me his RROD XBox which I only got to use for a week or so.

@isinn; my other friend said that theres 1GB in the softdrive itself even if you take out the harddrive to save games, but im not sure about that :/. and are you sure about the online thing?

@ringtone; Its the harddrive + 15$ (now) for the controller and game. still a good deal?

@ex; i didnt know you could use an rrod xbox :p

@heroo; I just searched google for xbox 360 to monitor and thats what i got lol. Would HDMI be the same thing

1. I think a pro comes with a 60gb HD, which should be enough for whatever, but if you're planning on downloading a shit-ton of DLCs, save yourself the QQ when your 60gb hd becomes full and get a 250gb one which should run you for about 150$.

2. 250GB HD is 150$; so you can guess how much 60GB+ would be

3. Gears 2 is pretty old now considering Gears 3 is coming out this year; so get GTA4 with the DLCs if you're really that interested in those 2 games, but like Squirt said, the Mass Effect series are a worthy investment considering ME2 is only 20$ (In Canada).

4. If you mean HDMI cables, you can find cheap quality ones that still do the job for about 15$~, but don't be expecting them to be like 12ft+

Xbox hdd are rather expensive in terms of $/gb. So if your friend is giving you a nice offer take it, 20gb will last for a long time if you manage your junk, my friend got his xbox in 06 and he still has a 20gb. Also xbox had a update last year that made it possible to use your usb for storage, so if you have a couple flash drives lying around they will do the trick for a while.

About hdmi, you can use it as long as your monitor has the slot for it, if your monitor is hd then it will likely have hdmi. You can find hdmi's for only $3-4 on ebay, I bought one almost a year ago, and it still works.

I spent a bit more on the offical microsoft hdmi cable. I got like some special thing with it for optic fiber and now I got a headset that was a good choice. Any hdmi cable works though. As for the hdd, AFAIK you can only buy the 60gb hdd with a headset/3months live for like 60-80 euro or the 250gb for 100 euro. 20gb hdd's aren't sold seperately (anymore).

really, that's interesting. I would rather just go buy a separate hdd from Best Buy for like $40, it would have more memory, and do the same stuff. But yea, agree with the hdmi, hey don't really matter, as long as they work!

Seperate hdd? You mean like an external one or a true xbox hdd? Don't know about any real xbox hdd's for 40$ here and external ones can only go up to 16gb, guess that can be enough.

I meant external, but did not know about the 2nd part, I guess that makes sense. Microsoft is one of the biggest money cows. But I think 16gb will last, unless you plan on installing a lot of games.

Yeah it's pretty lame but probably still cheaper than a hdd xD and you can install one game and some dlc on 16gb easily. My 60gb is almost full but thats cuz I got games on it that I never play anymore and some useless DLC and even a xbox original game (Jade Empire ftw). When I had 20gb it was all good too so I think you're right that an external hdd would be a nice cheap solution.

Well i looked into the HDMI cable thing, looks good but there would be no sound? Since my monitor does not have its own speakers :\.

My Xbox just put a scratch around my Black Ops... Sitting flat on the shelf... nothing moved it.. Microsoft FTW!
