Do not....buy any monster or skullcandy products. Ever >_>
Beats are overpriced insanely and skullcandy is well..generally crap.
There's a bunch of headphone threads posted recently with plenty of ideas in them.

I've never used skullcandy before but its really just a bandwagon thing, at least in my place. plus ther fucking ugly. From the reviews I've read online it seems like sennheiser and bose have the best ratings but bose is very expensive

Skullcandy is the Justin Bieber of earphones.
Dr. Dre is overpriced.

head over to head-fi. it'll help a whoooole lot. not buying full cans yet but from what i've been hearing over there. beats are definitely overpriced and skullcandy barely reaches average. but.
for that range, most recommend audio technica m50.
as a matter of fact. i wouldn't be too surprised if
THIS was your post.

That made absolutely no sense. If they are worth every penny they are not overpriced - they are expensive.

Sennheiser, IMO. Forget Skullcandy, that's rubbish.

Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, Sony, klipsch. Stick to those.
I just got some Audio-Technica Technica ATHM40FS. I'd consider them midrange headphones..
Also looked at the sony mdr-v6 (NOT v600), few different sennheiser's, and a few audio-technica. I was on a tighter budget though so I settled for the AT's above, paired with a asus xonar dx soundcard... stuff will be here tomorrow, excited to see how my budget setup sounds. Also have a 5.1 logitech x-530 system to go with it.
What sound card do you have? Or is this going to be used on portable media? Both?

Ah true.
Depends on your price range really. I like the Asus, Omega, and Auzentech brands. Each with it's own mid and high range cards depending on your budget. I went with the Asus Xonar DX because it has the same audio processor as their D2X which is a $200 high end card.
Not a fan of creative.

Bose have good headphones, not as overpriced, they aren't stylish though, but who needs style right?

Thread hijack, but on topic. Got the audio-technica, xonar and a ssd in the mail today. (SSD unrelated to audio)
Sounds amazing.
Everyone loves pictures right?
