Wtf is this world coming to... if that's the most abusive mom of the year, then I don't want to see how the average mom treats her child. This is why kids think so highly of themselves today, I got my ass kicked by my Dad if I did something wrong, this lady's punishments are awkward but its not like torture. I now see why teens, my age, think they can do whatever they want in school.

When I got in trouble at school I was spanked and sent to bed with no dinner. How is hot sauce and a cold shower abuse? I have friends that have had their mouth washed out with soap for swearing or lying... at least hot sauce is edible.

I had to eat my soap, my god, the taste is so horrible. I'd get hit with a wooden paddle with holes in it across the face if I mouth off, on my back if I didn't do something, and if I lied I had to eat soap, if I didn't do my homework no food for a day, ugh

You do realize that cold showers have been used as a torture technique right?

Standards change, maybe back when you were a kid that was considered abuse, but now it is.

It's obvious the kid lies because he doesn't want to get punished, she's just making it worse.

Jesus christ. It's sick that some people need to be beaten to straighten out... I wasn't abused/beaten/whatever the fk you want to call it, and I am obedient. I mean seriously though, if you need to have a deterrence to not do something, rather than knowing it's wrong, that's farked up in and of itself.

Btw the hot sauce and cold shower is really farked up. Cold showers = torture technique, did you hear that kid scream? Hot sauce, although no lasting physical damage, can cause major psychological damage.
Statistically, children who were beaten and/or severely punished, emit more aggressive behavior.

wth what is so bad with a cold shower and hot sauce in your mouth, at MOST that can be considered uncomfortable not torture or even abuse i consider that moderate punishment..

No wonder this kid is getting into fights, his mother is abusing him which is pretty much Farking him up emotionally.

Dude, my father used to hit me with an internet cable, that shit hurts as hell. and one time he locked me up in the garage for two days. and another time he tied me to my bed for three days. i don't even know how he came up with that shit lol

I think it's the society. I've heard and felt worse shit... yet people still grow up. Beating the kid for no reason is wrong. Hurting the child in an attempt to curb a bad behavior may not be the best choice, but for some, it's the only one that gets through.

Personal:
Hot Sauce in mouth, check.
Cold Shower, not check.
Beatings with paddle, belt, etc., check.
Random shit thrown at me (including tools, hammers, etc.), check.
Locked in dark scary bathroom that I hated, check.

Heard:
Girl being tied naked and stuck onto an anthill.
Being beaten silly.
No food.
Beatings that last until the device breaks.


This is just shit I recall of the top of my head.

I honestly believe that in moderation and with a calm, slow explaining method, beatings can be used as a teaching device since humans have a brain which can process more then animals which learn best through positive reinforcements. For me, I think the instant reaction today of OMG you hit your kid is partially why so many kids think they're the boss. I've literally heard a kid tell his mom that if she doesn't buy him something, he's calling child protective services. I actually know one that did it too...

How did me and the stories I mention turned out? Just fine it seems. I have a slightly twisted sense of humor, but I don't attribute that to beatings. I'm nice, happy, and rarely pick fights. Only time I fight is if it comes to me and I can't avoid it. Again, I think it really depends on the person.

A child that has natural good behaviors will respond and learn to be good quickly. Other kids are just more problematic and require a test of different techniques to know what works best. I think it's wrong to assume that hey, this method is acceptable and let's all do it like this. Humans vary quite a bit.

So many of you that gotten beaten/punished by your parents? wow. Never been myself by my parents so i can't really relate to it but i do know some kids you just cant get through to so the parents think punish is the only way. In a way i understand them but i would never hit my kids.
